After properly mulling this over most of today, I find myself in a strange position....
Not bound, gagged, covered in marmite and talc, and sing west side story songs.... honest.

I think I prefer a 25yr old bike I picked up about a month ago, to a bike I hunted for ages, spent 2yrs and a great deal on to trick out and set up exactly how I want it, and finally finished.

Both are superb in VERY different ways, but having had a long think about this, when out on the CB, im thinking of how that series of corners or straight would be on the bird. I dont think that way the other way round.
FFS...!!!!

Based on this revelation, and using proper man maths, utter dick logic, and hiding everything from the family, I intend to start to modify my bird a bit to exactly how I want it.

Here we go down an all too familiar rabbit hole. Damn you Honda!!!!

Powder coating/ceramic, cans, hoses, levers, wheels, custom fab work, plus all the bits I put together last week at Jaws.

Today has been decision made day, and im happy about it!
:). Like your style Sir

On Saturday I helped my wife’s friend, move her husbands motorcycles to the back garden whilst builders are working on their home
Her husband broke his pelvis and is in hospital ….
Husband and wife are almost 70 years old

He had an Enfield and this electric thing … interesting !!

Golf. 7am tee, glorious sunshine although quite windy. Shot 86, could have been so much better but I couldn’t hole a putt from more than about four feet. Striking irons beautifully, if I can have a good day with the driver (pretty decent today with two exceptions) and putter as well there will be fireworks.

Followed by directors meeting for the property company in the clubhouse after, happily interrupted by sausage baps.

Pulled my calf muscle pretty badly at golf 2 weeks ago. Dropped a great 60yard chip to about 3ft though. Typical!
Managed to hobble the dog round the fields behind my house for the first time since. (Kids have been walking her).

2hrs in work earlier for safety brief. Bonus!

4hrs today drinking brews & making a shopping list for bike mods (and contacting some of you lovely people!)

Productive day all in all!!!

Never tell us in here if you should damage something a little lower down from your calf as ankles are pretty much frowned upon. :risas3: And there’s no point telling us you hobble around with the dog - we all do that, it’s called old age.

dropping your chips is nowt to talk about either, what a waste!

At the car museum in Gaydon (stop sniggering)
There were various research vehicles

this one was designed so any pedestrians hit by a car would break calves and not hip/thigh bones
The angle would deflect the body over the bonnet

Strange how it never caught on o_O

A, a fellow golfist :ole: .

My shot of the day today was a fabulous flop shot out of light rough from about forty yards. Finished about three inches from the hole.

Kiss of Death on the seventeenth tee…who would be stupid enough to say ‘I have been playing with this ball for almost four rounds, I’m going to retire it when we finish today” before teeing off.

Fired it about 220 yards straight into knee deep rough never to be seen again.

Annoyingly got a birdie with the second ball.

Well youre far better than me mate!
Im off 20. My dads 68yrs old and hes still off 9. Tosser.

I stopped playing 25yrs ago when I put 3 clubs over my knee in 1 round. Vowed never to play the stoooopid game again.

Fast forward to 12 months ago and after getting mithered for ages to go abroad with the lads golfing, I woke up on my mates couch, gob as dry as a nuns chuff, half a kebab on my cheek, and saw loads of texts from the golf group chat id been added to.

I apologised via text saying I was clearly leathered when I agreed to go, but I was gona have to spine out. Apologies etc etc...
One of the lads put, no problem pal, but youre not having your £1500 back!!!
Id got that battered id paid for it too!

Went. Loved it. Came home, bought bats etc, and been loosing my balls and temper ever since.

(Could be part of the reason I want a quickshifter on the bike!!!)

Hahaha... Your Dad younger than most folf on here.!!
Am I too young to be riding a bird in my 40s??!! If id found these 10yrs ago I would have bought one then for sure. 4st lighter and looked after myself properly.
Is it strange that I want to modify it too??!!

Been goggling modified blackbirds but very little comes up. I know theyre superb bikes but surely more people have customized stuff for weight, power, shifting, handling etc????

First thing I do when I get a bike is take it on long, short, fast, quick runs for a good few weeks/months, then start to tweak it to exactly how I want it. Is there a thread here I cant find???!!!
