Did the shopping, enough for a week and a half, finally finished the garage, looking very tidy now even though it’s compact and bijou still not enough room to swing a cat though.

Shampoo is a great hand cleaner for all sorts. Discovered that years ago after working on the car and needed a hair wash I noticed that my hands were clean of oil/muck.
AND it makes your hairy palms so soft. ;)

I use shampoo for cleaning bikes & cars as its cheap, don't smear much & does not contain anything that will corrode bare ally ………… I also noticed my hands are cleaner afterwards too (y)

When you mentioned linseed oil it got me thinking....bit of a senior moment...realised I had used Hawk White not Plumbers Mait.

That'll explain why it leaked like a sieve.....:roto2palm:

Dug out my 39 year old Tub of Plumbers Mait (still 95% left!) , took five minutes to get a watertight joint...after twenty minutes cleaning off the Hawk White....

:SimpHomer:

Oops that would explain the leaks but it will be fine now after using plumbers mait :)

Sooo.. started on the latest project..
It is a 1990 Yamaha BWizz.
Arrived as a frame and a couple of big boxes of bits
Nailed the lump in ( about 90 seconds :) ) fitted the forks ( first problem encountered.. yoke is a bit bent ! ) and started to work out where the loom goes
Think it took at least 3 hours to suss out where most of the connections go. Why ? Because it came with 2 looms, three carbs 3 headlight sets, 2 ECU's and two ignition switches
All BWizz, all different models !!
Also 3 sets of plastics, again all BWizz but all different years
Its a bit like trying to do a jigsaw but with three puzzles all mixed together and no picture to go by !

I sat out on the yard whittling a stick this evening something I haven't done since I was a kid, very therapeutic for an hour or so ………….. I put it down to go & make a brew & the dog claimed it ……….. ginger twat ! :risas3:

Played golf like a twat.

Marvelled at the logic of a couple who had pitched their tent on the seventeenth tee. "There are signs up saying camping isn't allowed on the cliffs so we did the sensible thing and camped here". Nice enough people but the thought process was beyond my comprehension.

Marvelled at the couple of young ladies who chose the middle of the eighteenth fairway to sit down and have a mini picnic while admiring the admittedly spectacular view. Again nice enough people, but a staggering lack of awareness of their surroundings.

Marvelled at my five wood to the heart of the eighteenth green.

Despaired at my pathetic attempt at an eagle putt.

Worked on the Yam BWizz scoot

Took the carb apart and cleaned it before fitting,,It had sat with fuel in it for years, leaving the inside caked with lacquer ..
Hooked up a battery to check the wiring..
Tail light works
Stop light works
Starter works
Spark works
Kill switch works

.. Do not know about the front lights as the work from the coils ad need the engine running, but a quick check bypassing everything and just checking the switches and lights and all seems good

Bolted on the underside of the belly pan, the 2T oil tank and checked the rest of the plastics are there..
Nope !!

Both top and bottom halves of the handlebar fairing are missing, as are the battery tray, the battery box cover and the air filter box
Also, the seat supplied does not actually come off the bike !!!

Just took the dogs for a walk and saw the resident woodpecker doing his thing. Got a really clear view tonight and neither of us had got our phones for a photo

Whilst we were at the horses today we sat down for some refreshment (M&S Florida orange juice) we noticed a pied wagtail walking & flying about followed by two young ones who whenever they landed squawked at the adult who kept feeding them, even though they could fly they still relied on the parent to feed them.

Fitted my suspension upgrade but havent had the chance to try it out yet. Hopefully tomorrow. Itll be a necessary 2 mile journey to get to the border then an afternoon at my leisure in England.

Was asked to look at a Suzuki 50cc quad. They say one day it just stopped running so they put it in the garage and left it for 10 years!! Checked the usual suspects, sparking plug, the carb is a bit crappy so I'll get some carb cleaner. Put some fresh fuel in it and it ran (ish), for about 5 minutes then wouldn't restart. I'll have another look look in a couple of days.

I didn't know dogs used phones or was it the woodpecker that didn't have it's phone:nusenuse:

Went up to my mates & grabbed his hacked up Thunderace, from there we went the back way up to Ashbourne then over the tops to Bakewell for a brew followed by a bit of a meandering route to Matlock & up by Cassington water, Ashbourne again & home (y)

It was a nice steady pootle of about 120 miles & I discovered I like the ace a lot in its hacked up form I also found out I still got it :D I ache like hell now but I really enjoyed it (y)
