Off to have a look at my new ROOF 020 Mirror visor :blush:Jaws said:It is not the tint or the mirror effect so much as the amount of light let through..
To simplify the whole thing though:
If the visor does not have a kite mark on then it is illigal ( possibly there is an Eu mark that is equivelent but I do not know .. sorry )
Jaws said:Considering the system 3 BMW helmets that were issued to all police motorcyclists never had a kite mark and were, in effect, illigal in the UK, I would not be too worried !
Mr sensible steps up to the soap box..............
I would suggest that anyone using a tinted or mirrored visor should find somewhere to carry a standard clear one in case it gets dark ( no this is not a piss take ! Anyone getting caught on a summer day in a storm will no how quickly things can change ! )
Aidey said:Err, Rossi is not breaking the law because he is riding on the track, which is private property, not a public road.
To be legal in daylight it has to let in 50% of daylight according to some SI definition of daylight, because the amount of daylight obviously varies according to weather, time etc...
Aidey said:Thats trading standards prosecuting a retailer, not a policeman prosecuting a rider....two different things.
NoBBy said:The law also say primary eye protection not visor. So sun glasses under a visor are OK, lift the visor and they become illegal. So wearing sun glasses with a open face helmet is illegal.
