Had a run into Wales yesterday with Gary & Tracy, weather was fantastic, roads were clear with the exception of the Boyo Police, and how they made us welcome....

Unmarked Vectra sitting in layby calling number through to a bike cop ( AKA Wanker) in another layby, cars waved straight through bikes stopped and given the once over,Garys bike was fine, off you go son, mine was well  slightly naughty,so half an hour later fixed penalty notice ?30 for the number plate :xm ,I suppose I was really lucky, could have been done for cans as well, but it just goes to show it's all about ????,I wasn't issued with a rectification notice or asked to produce my Docs etc,but what really made my day was the comment Welcome to Walesfrom Bike Cop (AKA Wanker),no fookin wonder Bala town was empty, you used to see the high street rammed with bikes...Glad Wales can afford to keep loosing so much revenue :dunno:
Rant over :bang:

Sounds Familiar~~~~!

Matlock used to be the same

Thriving Market Town with 10K bikes there on a typical Bank Holiday Weekend

Normally any cage would queue for an hour to get into Matlock on a Sunday afternoon

A chip shop in Matlock was a "licence to print wonga" with very few shops avilable for let

Now............................

With the advent of "Safety Camera's", lukers in the hedges and even the 'copter in the sky at ?33K per hour [yes ?33,000.00 per hour - how many tickets do they have to write to cover the costs????????], Matlock is a shadow of it's former self

Best chippie in Matlock changes hands every year

No wonder the traders in Matlock are moaning [genuine moaning not forum moaning LOL]

Only the locals and die hards know the twisty back roads that are "un-plodded" and the fact that any weekday evening you will be relatively safe

And all in the name of "safety"?

I think not!

Plod has effectively destroyed what was the biking Mecca of the North Mudlands

Wonder what town is targetted next?

Nealy have you any ideas who the Bike cop was as I will have a word in his shell like.
That sort of arrogance is'nt needed I can understand why you were P'd off.
It is not the norm as far as I'm concerned and there is no need for them to be t*ss*rs and I apologise for his behaviour.
Soz M8.
Me very annoyed now

Ive paid the ?30 today and sent the FPN back with the cheque,so I'm not sure of his number,I'll just spend my hard earned in other parts of the country from now on ......plenty more tarmac to be had.

Thanks for the concern Pashion,I guess you work for the Welsh Old Bill then ??

and while travelling on the A55 towards llandudno,an unmarked vectra came up from a slip road to join the 55,slowed down for us to over-take him(spotted the uniform as i did)then proceeded to do a bat out of hell jobbie
in the hope that we would give chase....w$%$&r :bandit:

No we're not all that bad, Honest.
They do use the copter to catch speeders so remember to look up and the unmarked stuff is usually Vectra blackor deep blue and a couple of dark blue mondeos.

Ahhh MOLD (Where Pasion is) spent 10 happy years living near there at Northop Hall, got pissed a few times in Mold, drove the Mold - Ruthin road many a time, out through Loggerheads or take the scenic route over Moel fammau, stopping sometimes at the Clwyd Gate Inn for a meal etc. Made many lifetime friends whilst living there. Worked on a farm at Gwernymynydd for a year or two as well.

Sorry, my mind is drifting back to some wonderful memories.

Rode over the back road over Moel Fammau at the week-end - brilliant as long as you don't meet any car drivers!
Pashion - do North Wales have an unmarked K1100 in Blue - I think I passed one turning into the petrol station by the A55 in St Asaph a couple of weeks ago?

Lat year on our Wales weekend we caught up a Policman on a Pan, 10+ birds behind him on some of the best roads in the UK and what didi he do. He gave it a fist full and tried to out run us. All credit to him, he dragged bits of Pan all over the road, Buzz, our Police biker sat 4 feet off his rear tyre for 10 miles assessing his riding and gave him 8 out of 10. That was a good day out.

here is pic of the said gentleman.
