A colleague has just phoned me, he was looking up bikes on the tinternet (he can't remember what he typed in his search engine), but somehow he came across a 53 plate V Rod for sale at ?7,000, 1500 miles on the clock, immaculate condition, so he rung the guy, (somewhere in the sticks in wales)
and it turns out this guy is going through a messy divorce and just wants rid of the bike. So my colleague asked me "should I buy it"? so I said no but give me his number and I will buy it........If he doesn't buy it does anyone want a 53 plate V Rod for ?10,000 lol

I had one

for half a day last year and thought it was a very well engineered piece of work (for a potato).... It had a stage 1 kit fitted and 'screaming eagle 'pipes, sounded cool, went well, cornered well and stopped

Bit tarty for me but nice all the same.

Not again the critic thats never ridden the bike :bang:

I for a fleeting moment, thought you had opened your mind to other points of view!! clearly not then. :puke:

As for the value of that V-Rod mine is a 53 plate and I have just been offered ?14,400 trade.

At 7k it must be stolen or a write off or some other scam.

Oh dear, not again the person who assumes he knows everything, when he knows nothing about those whom he does assume about.

For your info. My friends and I, arrange test rides on a regular basics, there are not many bikes out there that we have not ridden.

Each to his own and mine is that the V-Rod is a pile of crap.

i have an open mind about everything on this earth, until i have experienced it and made up my own mind.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Please give me the run down of your experience with the V-Rod, on the basis that you are now such a enlightened man.

Please define pile of crap in relation to the V-Rod.

Well as you are the power base of all knowledge concerning myself, prehaps you would like to give the run down of my, now enlightened, experience concerning the V Rod.

Point made

Go on, try and tell us about just one little aspect of your test ride that makes the V-Rod a pile of shite.

Maybe cut and past from a test on the internet, if you can find one. :bang:

As you have said on a different post anybody can cut and paste.

The engine was the best point. The Vrod i believe, in my experience, is suited to american, with it's long and straight roads. I found it uncomfortable, the brakes lacked any feel, i did not like the way it handled at all. And i dont need to look at myself in shop windows or seek attention from others.

The above is from my experience and my opinion.

Mr Birdie

your V-Rod must have shit loads of goodies on it then to be offered ?14,000 trade as they are only ?14,095 for a new un for the VRSCA and just over ?13,000 for the B

I thought the enigne was very good but in the end went for the older Harley, leave Wilfy alone you dont want to know where hes been

Not ridden one but~~

Had a long conversation with an experienced rider who had just returned from an hours test ride whilst waiting outside the local Hardly Moving Old Son dealers for Cyclops to open his wallet - was a long wait!!!

His comments about the test-ridden V rod were..............

"Looks Sweet - as long as you want to pose"

"Pulls quiet well in a straight line"

"Handles like Sago in any kind of bend"

"Brakes - frighteningly poor"

"Value for money? Forget it"

"V Rods are for poseurs NOT bikers"

Did he buy one? Nope bought a BIRD instead

As with all Harley's they belong in the right place - back in the States!

All noise [when fitted with screaming eagle's] - all pi$$ - no progress!

LOL

Coat..............keys............all 4 pots warmed and working.................whooooooosh!

1970's ????

May be 1970's look but at ?14K it's more like a 2030 price tag!

For that money you could buy a Beneli - or even a proper bike

You pair of thick shits

the post was should he buy it at ?7,000 ???

So lets ponder it awhile should we

Buy V-Rod for ?7,000 and move it on for ?12,000 ish or pherhaps his better bet would be

Buy a blackbird for ?8,000 and then put loads on goodies and blig bling on it and then sell it for

?4,200 ish

Fuckwits

That's MISTER Fuckwit if you don't mind

Regardless of how much Hardley say it's worth - fact is it's a bag of shite and handles like a bowl of Sago and value is in the eye of the beholder

You want to bleat on about the benefits of Milwalkee Pig Iron?

Phook off to the good old USofA and take ya underpowered, old fashioned, twinned potted piece of shite with you!

Save your efforts for something else.

These numbnuts arn't worth the effort.

You see to have a constructive disscusion you need to expect a little bit of intelligence to understand a reasoned arguement, sadly they are very lacking in that department, then you need a level of riding skill to understand that fun does not have to be at high speeds in the corners, along with the fact that my Harley will blow most sports bikes if not all, let alone a Bird away to the ton.

I could go on about Plastic crap and no character or soul but that is pointless to the unworthy.
