today was going to be a nice day out for me and Stan. We'd arranged to meet up with stealth rider,900hornet in swansea then up to Llandovery to meet mike fj1200.
I got to the petrol station before our meet and they were out of fuel, met the lads, had brekkie on our way then, but no Stealth spots a screw in Stans rear.
Off to our tyre guy where he changes it for a new one free of charge except a tenner for fitting as it's covered by Avon's warranty thing.
Off we go again get up to the cafe at Llandovery, I spot a screw in stealth's rear Avon, fook me what luck he gets it plugged just around the corner
off we set again. Nearly to Builthwells where the road's blocked due to an rta
we turn around go over a minor road toward Brecon lol sheep up here.
Say ta ta to stealth and mike fj1200 heading back to Llandovery and a nice cupa doing 90 ish in a 60 when a certain helicopter comes over us. How long had he been there are we gonna get done shit we'll have to wait and see
oh and it fooking rained
and the Avon's got no grip on mud as I found out.
Nice to meet a few of the Guy's off here though see you again soon I hope.

Gotta be honest, though ride DID fall apart today....

first with Stan's short fat screw at M&P's then Huw's long slow screw in Llandovery...........................................................................

.........................................................................................

but, NEVER in my 16 years of living amongst the Welsh fraternity, have I seen someone alight from their bike on a single track road, in the wilderness of Wales...............and chase, with hips all flamingoed, after a flock of (ugly) sheep crossing the road!!!!!!!!!

Bluemeeine is either desperate or just a sheep's tart.

Thanks for today though....Blue (Pete), Stan, Huw from Worcester.......... and Caerphilly for being patient till we got there...................

Not a bad WINTER'S ride.

I was lucky....when I got home Deb, my wife, had prepared a luvli cheese & wine feast for just the two of us, just to warm the cockles of my heart.
Five brandy's and a bottles of Tesco Cuvee Prestige later I decided to check this web site. Hick!

Hope to see you soon on a longer, lees interupted ride.

All the best.

BTW, Avons performed as well as any tyre I've ridden before...

But I believe the wettest place in the UK is Capel Curig in North Wales. It's always raining anytime I go there. $%3un

Sorry I could'nt make it to the Dove but the dreaded work got in the way. I went down to Tescos in Cardigan in the after instead with a mate on an FJR and got pissed on all the way home. Still better than not getting out. No I did'nt have to take my helmet off to pay for petrol....... I went to the garage across the road who charge the same price! Looks like it is going to be bloody cold this weekend Snow ... hate the freakin stuff. 8ree!

Did a little internet research on this one, with really conclusive results.......

Linton-on-Ouse, west of York ? the wettest place in Britain during the past week with 3.5in of rain ? has recorded 31.1in this year

Plynlimon (Mountain 15km east of Aber and the wettest
place in Britain where it rains 2 out of 3 days).

Portland Bill was recorded as the wettest place in Britain yesterday with a rainfall of 0.63 in.

A mile further up the valley is Seathwaite, which is the wettest
place in Britain at 120 inches per year.

Snowdon and the area immediately around it is indeed the wettest place
in Britain receiving over 200 inches of rain every year. ...

Seathwaite has the distinction of being the wettest place in Britain

... and the absolute wettest place in Britain this summer (according to GMTV this morning) has been Hawick in the Scottish Borders.

A much needed facility for climbers living in what is officially the wettest place in Britain - Fort William
