Every once in a while I see something that makes me do a double-take so hard that I almost snap my neck. Something so bonkers, it can't be real, either a joke or a figment of my imagination.

Such a thing happened this very morning on the way back from the gym. I pass a used car dealership which seems to specialise in high end motors; they have a C Class convertible AMG C63, couple of Range Rovers, Discoverys, etc. This morning I saw a 2014 Dacia Dishcloth for £6,991! It wouldn't have cost that brand new! I've had a look at their website and it is indeed not a joke.

I've heard a rumour that the price of used cars have gone through the roof but that is taking the piss.

Please share your jaw-dropping moments.

Won't be long before the computer chip shortage eases and new cars become more available again.
There will be a lot of people that bought over-priced cars which suddenly become worth a fraction of the price they paid for them.
I suspect a fair few caravans and motorhomes bought during the last year or so are going to be on the market soon and at knockdown prices.

I think a similar situation exists already with Motorhomes being over-priced because there is a ready market for them to people who don’t know what they’re truly worth. When the Covid ‘bubble’ bursts and everyone can come and go as they please (we’re almost there it seems) then there will be a glut of secondhand stuff around and the prices will tumble accordingly.

Beat this....

That's even more nuts but it does have half the mileage. However, you had to go looking for it on AutoTrader, I saw the one advertised above and nearly crashed!

I am far from sure that there will be any easing in the chip shortage,…..apparently over 90% are produced inTaiwan, which is still being eyed by China. Any easing to my mind is likely to be the result of new sources being established…not cheap.

I cancelled the order for my new car a few months ago as a lot of kit was going to be omitted, the dealer tells me that nothing has changed. A friend has been waiting eleven months for,a new Discovery, idiot brother in law is five months overdue on his new Polestar (not quite sure how he managed to choose a more than decent car..normally has trouble doing his shoelaces).

You have pretty much contradicted yourself with that statement.

A new source of chips or a completely new way invented to do the job of a chip WILL ease the chip shortage.

You really are an arse, sometimes.
