Yesterday Mrs JB states, the microwave is knackered, I go and check and sure enough the thing is barely turning and what went in came out cold. Then I noticed the kitchen lights were a bit dim. Got onto the electric company to report the issue and bang yet another power cut, when the power finally came back on, hey presto the microwave working just fine again.
So basically you’re saying your microwave fused the electric company :yikes:

Today i got a link from another forum, air arms have clearance sale on and i picked up one of their excellent hard cases brand new for £31.50 posted, not bad considering this particular one was some £380 odd originally

They have walnut stocks at a similar price and massive discount i just wish i could justify buying one and storing it until the right action came along

Wrap the Ovaltine powder in tin foil (preferably not after you've wrapped it round your head). The get your iron out and while it's heating, put the foil packet on an ironing board with a thin tea towel over the top. Once iron is hot (no steam!), apply to foil making sure that it's covered with single layer of tea towel and leave there for a little while. Remove. Repeat. Remove. Repeat.

Keep going until the contents of the foil are solid, open and break to desired size and there's your Ovaltine sweets.

Why not steam? It won’t penetrate the foil

I tried that years ago.

It just doesn’t work.

FACT.

Back to reality. Bought today …….Don’t do much in the way of pre-prepared food but very Happy to recommend two fantastic products from Morrisons:

  • Rough pork and mushroom pate. Delicious (opposed to the similarly packed duck liver with orange which is disgusting)
  • chicken fillets in Southern Fried coating - proper bits of chicken breast (not the leftover bits mashed together) with a fantastic crispy spicy coating, three packets of two massive bits for £10 from the chiller cabinet. Outstanding.
The ‘made in store’ pizzas from the deli counter in our ,local Morrisons are also outstanding. Way better than anything ‘box bought’ and, needless to say, the sad limp overpriced stuff that Dominos deliver.
