Thinking of holidays

Its the time of year, with months of crappy winter ahead that I like to remeniss ( oops that doesn't look right ) about holidays and happy times in the sun. My favourite holiday spots are:

St Ives, Cornwall. I think its the most beautiful, Quaint place on earth and sitting outside the Sloop Inn right on the quay side with a pint of Guinness, gazing over the water and just people watching, is to me, heaven.

Havana Cuba, There is no other place like Havana. Its like going back in time, with its old and crumbling Baroque buildings and old American cars. The people of Cuba, although they have no money, are the friendliest I have ever come across.

Where are your favourite holiday places and why?

St.Ives

Nick, you are right. St. Ives is absolutely gorgeous, hard to believe its in this country. Been there 7 years on the trot as a kid.
I have to say that too is my favourite destination.

Newquay used to be good till the "scouse skallys" went down and spoilt it, :xm
Paignton was "okay", but love the isle of Djerber off the Tunisian coast,

st Ives is the best, spent many a night outside sloop drinking cider, beautiful place. watching the surfing on fistrel beach. havent been for four years does anyone know if the old seal still lives in the harbour. he used to follow you on your bodyboard as you paddled between the fishing ships.

Love the West Country...but always prefered Brixham if I was staying in the Torbay area. Anywhere from Somerset down to Cornwall was great, though.
Will always have a 'soft spot' for Looe on the Cornish coast.

These days it has to be Icmeler/Marmaris in Turkey for our holidays. :lick:

This is ...

also a nice place to go if you're feeling stressed, like we all do some time, just watch the water and relax. ( and no, it's not Boscastle just before the flood!)

And the picture of the Strom at the top of Timmelsjoch Pass will always remind me of the holiday at Lake Garda.

roll on next year .

Its gotta be France for me and my other half. We usually manage to go there every year (except this year cos of getting Jester :yo: and other financial commitments i.e being skint :B )

been to Brittany, Loire valley, Dordogne/Lot valleys, Vendee and the Alps.
Hoping to go next year again but havent decided where yet.

We are even thinking about retiring there but will have to find whether people are allowed to keep raptors or whether its only falconry centres and zoos that can have them
