Just a general question.

What is the fastest, bog standard production bike at the moment, at one time it was I believe the Hyabusa, but think that has been superseeded now, anyone know what what by??

Cheers

A very fast flower by the look of it!

Or perhaps it could be the ZX12R...?

Sorry Wolfie, beg to differ mate..
It is the kwak, but very specifically the A , not the B. The B was restricted but the A never was.

It WAS the BUSA :lick: and infact still is :lick: ...........
The KWAK never made it to the top slot, shame, but the champ is indeed the BUSA.

Fastest

Hi Guys
I assume the fastest by this post means flat out in a boring straight line... easy peasey.
Not the fastest A to B bikes though. for example a 300/500 mile dash or a 1000 mile 2 up splat across Europe?
Cheers Paul

Does the same rule apply to hire bikes as applies to hire cars.

We all know that hire and company cars are alot faster than privatley owned cars.

The injected Birds are slower than the carbed ones but the carbed ones are no longer production

Is this true?

Carb fast FI slow?

Where does the idea of the carbed Birds being faster come from?
Official figures? :dunno:
Late last year I thought of upgrading my 98 Carb bird to a 211 FI model, but the stories of HISS, loom, idling wax, consumption etc convinced me to rather spend on jet kits, suspension upgrades etc.
I'd like to hear some opinions on the reasons/basis for performance differences between std Carb and FI Birds (to convince myself I made the right choice I s'pose)

This bloke has a good piont, the fastest bike will be the one with the largest circumferance tyres fitted (which ever they are), and take out the air filter during the speed test for good measures. What else could you do to make a "standard" bike faster?

Leave the air filter in, seal all the edges and joins on the airbox, wear a stupid looking aerodynamic suit and go up one tooth on the front sprocket ...................

and go on a diet
