Meet up point

Clive.

Loose nut and myself will run across to Edinburgh on Sunday morning so I'll be leaving the run at Carlisle, not joining there as shown in the itinerary.
A good night out can be had in Edinburgh, and there's loads of culture if your into that sort of thing.

Accomodation

Right, after a lot of ringing round (with some silly prices and not a lot of availability :bang: ) this is the score.

1. We have booked 4 double rooms (3 doubles & 1 twin, all en-suite) in the Cumberland Hotel (ALL of their spare rooms)
Link to hotel site
These rooms are for Fodder, Clive, Stuey & Quiney

CUMBERLAND HOTEL
1 WEST COATES EDINBURGH EH125JQ
0131 337 1198

2. We have booked a single ensuite in the Dunstane House Hotel, which is across the road from the Cumberland.
This was the best we could do Del (or you could have shared with one of us lot in a family room :puke: )

DUNSTANE HOUSE HOTEL
4 WEST COATES EDINBURGH EH125JQ
0131 337 5320

3. I understand that Canary has booked his own accomadation.

Now, anyone know the number to book the weather???

Well, I take my hat off to you Sandra  I had to have the phone at work surgically removed from ear and treatment for RSI after phoning around looking for accommodation, must confess it was looking a bit desperate. Many thanks for sorting it...the beers are on me...

Edinburgh meet point

I know where you mean. I've been in the BP station a few times but I can't remember the Texaco one. I do remember the speed camera on that side tho'.
I was working across there today and did a wee spell on a part of the A70 I haven't travelled before. Lets just say we wont fall asleep on this one and I'm easing off my suspension before Sunday. See you at 9 am (bugger... up at 6:30 in the morning on a Sunday???).

Another one closed down

Clive

I went past the Texaco petrol station this morning and it is boarded up and fenced off.

Would have liked to have joined you on Sunday but as it is the other halfs birthday somehow I don't think it's gonna happen!

Enjoy it

Fodder/Clive,

not too sure of what is going on yet but we will (weather dependant) be heading north that weekend. The choice is either to go to see Anya's mom & dad in Pickering or sod it and go to Edinbough <sp>. Will mail you during to coming week but whatever we decide we'll fly up the M6 and have a coffee with you.

Here's to the sun god

Eddy.......

The only all season 'camp site' I'm aware of is around the Derby area, lots of 'spaces' to fill so I hear...... :neenaw:

Just got back from a 2.5k ride around France, Spanish Pyrennes, Andorra and Jersey (well 20 miles on Jersey!!). Rode back up north from Weymouth last night. Interesting weather conditions - ferry delayed, pissing down with rain and got back at midnight. Everything is now drip drying (even the stuff that is supposed to be 100% waterproof!!!). As we haven't been home for the last 3 weekends, I expect that we'll have to pass on this one. Have a great weekend and hope the weather stays good.

It's a this point in the week, when looking forward to a weekend away, that offerings to whatever gods you support should begin to bring fair weather for the weekend. Please start praying, 'ing, sacrificing chickens or whatever it is you do! Personally, I think lady luck is on our side.....

Looking forward to it......

BTW, Clive/Sandra, thanks for your bad attacks of organisationalitus!

Back to the bottle of JD now.....it's my only cure for start-of-academic-yearitus, hopefully cured by the weekend!

I take it that you both went solo, so Jane must now be classed as a seasoned rider

We certainly did take both bikes - no way will Jane be a pillion again. Seasoned rider status - she's covered about 8k miles so far this year (and that's with a layoff with a broken finger for 7 weeks), so not too bad for her first 10 months on a bike.

Looks like the weather will hold for the weekend. My boots and gloves are still drying out after Sunday!! Definately won't be joining you this weekend. Have a great time.

Mushrooms

Remember the last run out (Mablethorpe) when I coned my boss into signing me holiday form, well he's got his own back, he organised a bloody fungal foray, then booked the w/end off to go to Skegi (MCN bash) guess who's got the walk now "talk about kept in dark and fed on sh*t".
Any way have a good weekend

PS you should be ok with canary as he is a funguy :}

Looking forward to the next one

Have a nice run up North

Have a good 'un. The sun has been out the past couple of days and lookin' promising for the whole week-end. The midgies are having an end of season party after 2 weeks of solid wind & rain but it's a small price to pay. Meeting up with Loose Nut and heading across on Sunday, see y'all then.

Wish I'd seen this sooner. Would really have liked to do the weekend, but it's too late to sort child-minding for a night away. Will try to be in Brampton though, for the afternoon meet-up.
