Just had a reply and have sent a follow up..

Please you lot, jump on the band wagon ! :p !

From tescos:

This policy was implemented following criminal incidents involving people wearing crash helmets. We have CCTV systems to assist in crime prevention, but these are useless if we are unable to record faces. I can assure you that we do have signs displayed in both our stores and petrol stations, advising people of this policy.

I apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to some of our customers, however, I hope you will now understand the important reason behind this decision.

My reply:

Quite obviously you neither read complaint properly nor I suspect give a damn either.

Your reply does not address any of the points I raised.
If someone is going to rob you they will not take off their crash helmet so all you are doing is penalising the inncoent

Why are signs not up demanding hoodies be removed and indeed Burhka's if it comes to it.

Fortunately the word is spreading about Tescos awful human rights record and I personally have managed to persuade 80 familys in the area not to shop at Tescos any more..

What with the really good exposure in the press Tescos has receieved over the poppy day fiasco , plus other issues of a similar ilk, I would urge you to at least bring this matter to the attention of someone who can do something about it before we take the matter to the national press ( who may or may not be interested, but will keep the info to hand for future use you can bet.)

Good luck with the crusade chaps

However !

Tesco (LSE: TSCO.L - news - msgs) 's profits have topped analysts' forecasts, coming in at ?1.4bn, with turnover up 11.5% at ?28.6bn. Britain's biggest food retailer also said it had achieved its target for emerging markets as underlying operating profits rose 78% to ?212m. Analysts had forecast that the underlying pre-tax profit would be between ?1.33bn and ?1.39bn.

I suspect that as the petrol side is a loss leader they wont be tooo concerned

Thyats the point Cyclops.. they aint too concerned.. They aint too concerned about grabbing a WW 1 veteran doing poppy day duty by the scruff of the neck and turfing him off 'their' property..
They aint too concerned about telling someone collecting for cancer research, they should be locked up for scrounging..
They ( the people who work for Tescos have the morals of a turnip.. none !

They are only interested in profits.. not how much abuse or personal harm they do to anyone.

Whilst I am sure someone will say 'my mum works for Tescos' or some such, that is not what I mean at all .. so dont dilute the argument ! LOL !!

The only way to make them take notice to to keep on and on and hopefully influence enough people to make a difference !

Oh and just gonna submit the story to the Sun....

And this to the Sun:

Hiya,
Tescos have started putting up signs saying motorcyclists must remove helmets before paying for fuel.
Whilst this in its self is not unreasonable, the reason for it is.
They are claiming that they suffer more robberies by people in helmets than any other dress.
It is not true..
There are more crimes committed by people wearing 'hoodies' than crash helmets, yet there are no signs up saying hoods must be removed/lowered..
As an aside, do tescos think that a robber will abide by this rule ! ?

Once again the only people to suffer are the innocent..
Why is this an issue ?
At this time of year a motorcyclist needs that helmet on to retain warmth.. take it off and you get cold quickly.. you lose heat that cannot be replaced.

Motorcyclists in the UK are treated like second class citizens at the best of times. The attitude of Tescos does little to enhance the publics perception of 'bikers'

Oh, Tescos was asked why women wearing burhkas ( spelling ?? ) were allowed in the kiosks.. they replied they had never been robbed by a muslim woman.. It was put to them that they had not been subjected to a suicide bomber either, but other folk had .. No reply was forthcoming .. :)

Considering Tescos track record of abusing WW1 veterans, cancer reaserch collectors and no doubt other fringe human rights type issues, I am amazed that they have just announced record profits.. I would have expected folk to avoid the buggers like the plague !

Jaws do this...

Go to Tesco's and either fill up where you cant be seen, or get a mate who removes his helmet to fill your bike up.

Then, wearing your helmet, go to pay.

If they insist that you remove your helmet, remind them that have no authority or power to make you remove your helmet, that you are there wielding cash or a credit card and not a gun or a knife, that you wish to make a lawful payment, but if they refuse to take your money after you have offered it, tell them you are leaving.

See how soon they cave in! - wankers

My pen'worth for what its worth Jaws, in the hottest debate now raging on the forum.
If a robber goes to a petrol station wearing a crash helmet, does he/she spend five minutes filling up their bike with petrol first? I would have thought they would have come round the side of the paystation for maximum surprise and probably come in an unmarked van or stolen car.
My point is, the ordinary biker stopping to fill up with fuel is highly unlikely to be a robber, thus ruining their argument.

 EXACTLY what i said to the manager at the STOCKPORT store last week.............  they haven't got a fookin clue about 'modus operandi' (MO) on previous crimes,, they make me piss.
A robber ISN'T going to park the bike, fill it up, casually walk in and robb the place, then walk back to the bike dick around starting up and going past witnesses........ NO NO NO, they have an 'dogger / driver' or leave the bike / scooter/ car etc out of sight.

This IS my field, i have looked at more MO's than bloody Mr TESCO has...

1. How do they know ?.

2. If you are going to rob Tescos wear a burhkas, as you will not be challenged.

3. Will Tescos fit out all their petrol stations with somewhere clean and safe/secure to put our helmets while fueling up ?
