Never liked white wine only red, always liked the more intensive flavour, likewise with champagne, nothing more than fizzy nothingness, rather have a good west country cider with a good strong taste of apples. But a nice real ale in good condition takes some beating, yes sireeh.

Sorry, champagne is terrific. But Cava and a few other fuzzies are just as nice, I don't see it as anything outstandingly nice. Just terrific.

Back in 1987 The British pistol squad were competing in the European championships in Reims France and the prize giving was in the Moet Chandon champagne house, what a set up, we were given the grand tour and loads of sampling took place, later on at the dinner there was only champagne on the table so we all got stuck in, unfortunately the french took so much time with the presentations and speeches by various local dignitaries it was approaching 10:00 pm, no food yet served and us lot drinking on empty stomachs, that led to some one who will remain nameless starting a bread fight then finally going onto the stage to collect his trophy and in an exaggerated bow to the rest of the room promptly split the arse out of his trousers, the whole room erupted in hysterical laughter. The food was then quickly served!
Never forget that and I think Malone may know the guy I’m talking about, as he later on after the pistol ban was straightlining Hayabusas and comes from an area near Malone.
Still prefer decent cider to champagne though.
Champagne =fizzy pop that steals yer legs:).

Not many red wines that I like, champers is overrated, Gin is shite, it’s the spirit version of celery.

Southern Comfort WAS my favourite as a youngster !
BUT the morning after was horrible (Can’t stand the sweet sickly smell now!)

similarly with Cider ... and snakebites etc etc

since a very bad (or was it good ?) school reunion in 1992 ...AND the following morning and the following week !!! (Alcohol poisoning OR food poisoning ... I will never know which)
I’ve not drunk alcohol since ...
Do I miss it ?
Not at all !!!
