Stay a million miles from anything magnetic if there is any risk of it picking up iron filings or steel swarf, ie if you work anywhere near a workshop.

I did quite a bit of damage to one tank with an Oxford expander this way, and wont use a magnetic tank bag again!

Scratching the tank

I know it's a bit cheap but I put a clean tea towel under mine each time I go out whilst I save my pennies and pull my finger out and buy a tank cover :violin:

I have a pari of burgundy colour baglux tankbags for sale. They zip together and can be used independently. When both are full up I have trouble seeing the speed and fuel clocks.

Make me an offer or will swap for same thing in Black
