I was toying with the idea of getting a tank bag (probably baglux).

Has anyone got one?

Are they any good?

Can you still see your clocks?

How much was it?

Has anyone got one that they don't use and want to sell (with blue tank cover)?

your advice is apreciated as per usual

Got a Hein Gericke one with magnets in the base......no problems with clock visibility, had it 3 or 4 years and still works fine, paid about ?35 I think.

If you want a Baglux one give Bob Pinder a shout.....he's a distributor for Baglux and will do you a good deal.

(Commission now Bob) ????? :} :}

I use an Oxford expander tank bag. You can't see f@@k all when it's completely full, but there are a million and one combinations so I split mine in two and strap half to the back like a tail pack.

If you're after a bargain check out this ebay link. It looks quite good value and the shop also have lifetime and humpback luggage at reasonable prices. They will be at Peterborough also.

Good luck with your hunt.

Bagster

Sorry Bob. Forgot about you. I will keep you in mind next time I talk about tank bags c7u8

Anyway, Bagster are for classy people. Only cheapskates like me buy "stick-on" luggage, that's probably why I thought of Oxford first :blush:

I won't be going to the BMF as I'm working nights, but if I was I'd look you up and let you personally slap the back of my hand. :}

OXFORD/BAGLUX

I've got a BAGLUX tank harness fitted with an OXFORD tank bag.... I got extra clips from BAGLUX directly and fitted them to my OXFORD bag, the bag is better than the BAGLUX item in that its more user friendly. When i take it off i can carry it as a rucksack or with a carry handle, it also still works magnetically if so required.
The OXFORD bag has a removable bum bag, 2 tier system, 3 large pockets, map pocket on top as well as in the base (incase you just want to use the map pocket alone) and comes with a storm cover and lifetime warranty + its cheaper. I never have visibillity problems with mine fitted even when at its maximum. If your going to the bash and you wanna try mine then feel free.

After you have bought us all the beers at the bash I'll educate, and demonstrate, what Bagster products are available now.

We are now in 2004 and have electricty in our houses here in the south.

Bagster also do a tank bag for transporting your pet, unfortunately its not whippet size :}

I`ve got a baglux tank cover and a Hein Gericke bag that clips into it. No probs with visibility. I must admit I was a bit wary at first cos it seemed to take up so much room but its great, totally recommend one. :beer:

Can`t comment on cost, got a blinding deal on the tank cover courtesy of Murt :beer: :beer: and the tank bag was a chrissy prezzie R#?

I got an oxford sports tank bag (I think) from the BMF last year. It expands a little, just enough for a 1.5KG chicken, a bottle of bourbon, some iced buns and M&M-laced cookies. It came with a belly strap and collar strap, but I only usually use the collar.

When I was in the office, it could also fit shoes, trousers and top, with room spare for a Mars bar.

Just seen your web site. Do you happen to know if the Givi red is anything like a match for a red 2003 Bird?

I'm thinking of getting a new set of boxes.

Thanks.

Hi boomer

Hi boomer m8 i fully recommend the Baglux set up you have to be extra careful :beer: with magnetic tank bags scratches very easy with them and if you tend to lean on your bag to duck under the wind blast it can move forward and hinder you steering lock

Works well, as long as you are paraniod about keeping the magnetic pads clean, you will not mark your tank.

The best thing is the way it turns into a reasnoble rucksac when off the bike, and the worst thing is you have to put a plastic rain cover on if it gets wet.
Cant they design something that stands up to British weather? :bang:
