Nice one Steve, what counts is that you enjoy your ride, not the opinion of few monkeys - Andy that's funny :lol: :lol: :lol:

Rhino.....thanks Mate !!! Glad you like her. Pierre.....the riding position seems to suit my lardy body a little better than the 'Bird, the only thing I miss is that rush of acceleration off of a line.

Andy.....Trace is so relaxed on it she fell asleep on the M11 coming home from Peterborough !!! No arse or back ache at all !!!! :bow:

What's them boxy things......Around the back of the tractor. I had heard rumours that some Bikers fitted stuff like this but no evidence until now. Jack the back up (6mm spacer) some shrooms, a different fairing, engine, wheels etc. Could make it okay.

Mac..... the 'boxy things' are a set of Honda luggage. No more stuffing all yer belongings in pockets or a rucksack.....115 litres of secure carrying capacity. The rear shock requires no spacers or jacking up......fully adjustable by means of a remote, easily reached turnwheel. No need for 'shrooms....Honda have thoughtfully provided two crash protectors built into the aerodynamic fairing. Wheels are cast aluminium....as fitted to many other bikes in the Honda range....but powder coated in black for a 'wipe clean' finish. The engine is a silky smooth V4 of proven design but bored out to 1261cc to give increased torque and power.

You don't like it, then ???? :B :B

Yes!

As a tourer it's superb, but thats as far as it goes, it's not got a foot in both camps like the BB.

Looks good though, sharper than the FJ :beer:

Four cylinders Bert.....But they are in a V formation !!!!! It's like two Harley lumps bolted together !!!! :}

Heart was set on the Road King....but at ?15k I just couldn't justify it for the type of biking I do. We're looking to move house early next year and my daily commute will be somewhere arond 150/180 miles....the Harley would have been wrecked inside a year being ridden in all weathers.

I see you're thinking of getting a Pan ??......go try one (or if you're down Sarf for any reason, try mine)......but give it a good couple of hours to settle to it. I tried it on a hour test ride and wasn't 100% sure....but Trace and me have been to the BMF show today and that's convinced me I've made the right choice. 220 miles round trip......not one ache or pain.....smooth as silk... not 'exciting' to ride, but practical.

Steve you going on the next "rider education day" on it then??? :dunno:

I don't think so Ian. Although ground clearance and cornering shouldn't be an issue......quote from Honda's brochure "Super BlackBird ground clearance 130mm. STX1300 Pan European ground clearance 135mm.

Should I try a track day with me Pan ????......might do better than I did with me 'Bird !!!!!! :} :}

Derek.....green with envy ??? The Pan isn't that much more (realitively speaking) than the 'Bird. Go and try one M8 !!!!! :beer:

Now THAT'S what I've been expecting Mike !!!!!! I honestly thought everybody on the forum would crucify me but the Pan seems to have raised more positive reaction than negative.

Name change ???...Trace suggested Supa1300 last week, but I'm open to suggestions. (Not Bedpan though) !!! :}
