323 sailors for starters, the strikers who were beaten to death, the hippies who were beaten to death, the police who were beaten to death, or are you one of those that refuses to read the other side to any stories?

Mickey i shared my air with you.

Thats true, you did

Sorry meant to add, some of those sailors are the mates I speak of  and they would not have had it any other way  RIP lads

So she pressed the 'fire' buttons of the missiles that walloped our navy ships, did she?

She took on wave after wave of strikers with a big stick too?

She also set upon a mob of defenceless hippies too? What did she use that time, mad dogs perhaps?

She probably needed a semi-automatic assault rifle as a bare minimum to take on the police though, eh?

More commie bullshit without a shred of credibility.

She gave the go ahead to murder the 323 sailors on the Belgrano.

she gave the go ahead to charge the strikers. dont forget the miner strikers where not striking for more money but to save their jobs, livelihoods and communities

read my sig.

Read the other sides stories.

research both sides.

or carry on in your blind way. the choice is yours.

Also try finding where it automatically makes you a commie if you dont like facists?

What was the Belgrano doing there? It was only sailing away because the Task Force was on it's way. If it hadn't been in a conflict zone of it's own choosing, it wouldn't have been hit.
If the Royal Navy had left, the Belgrano would've returned. Feckin' leftie do gooders.

Just popped over from the 'pipe and slippers' Pan forum, expecting to see a lively performance here especially as some of the Pansters have been throwing teddies at each other.

I'm impressed with the quality of thread here guys, keep it up. You meet the nicest people on the Oracle.

Woman being interviewed on television earlier today, she lost her son in the Falklands war, he recieved the VC, this mother blames Thatcher.

Ex colleagues of mine were invalided out of the RN due to injuries received during the Falklands war, they applied for war pensions but were told "It wasn't a war it was a conflict"

Shouldn't she blame the Argies for kicking off in the first place?

As I recall the general consensus was wtf are we sending our troops to protect an island we've never heard of, there was as much outcry at the time as there is now about our troops in Afghanistan

Something about the people of the Falklands wanting to remain British.

The Argies took over Sth Georgia first and when there was no reaction they fell into her trap and invaded the Falklands. Fait accompli. a war to get her re-elected.:wank:

Her best achievement IMHO was showing the unions that the elected politicians ruled! Remember the "winter of discontent"? Secondary picketing was obscene!:shooter:

Well, I must say I am pleasantly surprised by most of the posts in this thread. Most people seem to be able to respect Maggie even if they didn't agree with her policies.

as someone commented, at least you know where she stood on issues and there was never any question that she wasn't 100% behind Britain.

Now let me think, who would i rather have in charge? blair? cameron? Not difficult is it?

As Maggie famously said, 'I want to do something rather than be someone'. Sums her up perfectly.

In my view the only real mistake she made was carrying on as PM too long.

RIP Maggie.

Short memories or blinkered vision.
Don't think we've had a decent PM in my lifetime but she is the only Despot that I can recall.

I suspect if you research more closely you will find that the 'winter of discontent' was when she was NOT Prime Minister!! (1978/79)

She didnt get elected until May 1979 as far as I recall

You may not have cared for her policies but at least she had balls!!:-0)
