Reefer, could to talk on the old trambone last night & I'm glad you can make the

Catalunya trip.
Dave T - sorted then, so you'll be joining us after Le Mans, excellent. All we need now is ya mate Nigel to act as support vehicle and carry all our luggage for us :}
Scraper ? - haven't heard from him since posting revised trip, so don't know if he can make it at this stage.
Samster is also definately coming but we're not sure if his mates can make it at this point.
Two other guys (Mick & Glyn) are also joining us for the trip down at least.

At first, it looked great cos it meant i could do both Monza and Spain but then i checked the holiday cover for me and that is not so great :B between 16th and 28th June. All of July is fine if we could make it then......please please change your new dates so i can come please please pretty....:puke:

Double arse mate, cos the only meetings in July are as follows:

WSB - Lagunna Seca - USA (a bit far I think) & Brands Hatch ('nuff said)
GP - Sachsenring (Germany) and Donnington (MUDland massive territory - not allowed there!)
So nothing Spain in July I'm afraid, probably 'cos it's too flaming hot! So, unfortunately July ain't good mate. I will be going across to the Ring in August, but that'll be just a long weekend thing, however you're welcome to join us. Will post more details in due course.

Help

Joe, is it that important that we have to watch a bike race, i mean it's only for a day out of 2 a week holiday. I had the time booked off work with cover arranged and have been looking foreward to doing spain for ages. I cannot get the new dates off work, come on m8 have a care.

Can we not not find a period whick is OK for all involved, i mean i for one am not worried about watching bikes on a circuit when i would preffer to be enjoying the roads myself. Without having a commitment to watch a race means we could be free to roam where we want to be to find the best roads, scenery and babes, it would still be a blinding holiday.

Dates i can make are the original dates, first 2 weeks in may and all of July.

Anyone one else who is not bothered about watching the racing please pipe up :dunno: :h

Scraper, I've sent you an e:mail mate but for everyone else's benefit................

if you guys want to go to Jezez in May still, please don't feel obliged to join me in June. I simply can't do anthying from March - May now, being self employed means work is priority. I'm gutted about changing the dates too 'cos it means making new plans & I'd also already booked flights, tickets, car hire and accomodation for the Valencia WSB in March which I now can't attend and have obviously lost the dosh - but I really don't have an option. I am a keen race fan & personally wanted to attend either the Jerez or Catalunya GP this year, but if others aren't bothered, again, don't feel obliged to attend. However, July in Spain is simply too hot for me and peak everthing.
Scraper, I notice that Rolfy Dave is looking @ going to the German Bash in May, perhaps this might be an alternative.

Ok guys. The consensous is that we meet over the weekend of

15/16th February in order to discuss/agree arrangements, before we start to booking things up. I suggest we get together on Saturday 15th. If that is ok with everyone (and as Sam is in Basingstoke and the rest of us are in London) I suggest we meet somewhere off the M3/M4 corridor. Does anyone have any suggestions / know of a suitable pub/place? We need to consider that we'll probably wanna have a look at a few maps, guides, etc and have a good chin-wag, etc, i.e. the Spearmint Rhino club is probably not the best place  (well, perhaps we can on to afterwards :} )

Sounds good Dave.

Presume we're all in agreement that we wanna get down to Andorra PDQ 'cos that's where the real fun starts. Andorra itself hasn't much to offer apart from great roads, wonderful scenery and cheap biking gear (fot those who want it). We'll then blat down towards Barcelona - join the coast road just the other side of Barcelona (giving the toll motorways a miss) - take the Garaf mountain pass by storm (ya' gonna love this road boys-makes the hairs on my neck stand up just thinking 'bout it!) - get to Sitges for a bit of a posse and some lunch - then ride down towards Cambrills (just outside Salou) :yo: Bring it on........

Cheers for that Dave.

Ok gang, looks as if 15th is good for all, so if you wanna say in the arrangements keep this date free. Just waiting to hear from Sam who's hopefully gonna suggest a suitable venue for our meet

Route down through France

Having sat down with Dave T and done some sums, provisionally, we reckon that we'll need to stopover south of Le Mans (probably Chateau Du Loir) on day one and then north of Toulouse on day two. That'll give us day 3 to cross over into Spain and ride down to Cambrills. I'm proposing we use Cambrills (nr Salou) as our first base. We can travle to the GP easily and local roads are fun. Dave and I are trying to source accomodation in France now and it looks like I've got a great deal for our accomodation in Cambrills, however I won't be booking anything 'till we've had our get togther and agreed what we all wanna do.
