If your stuck mate, I will machine a couple of hero blobs up for you.. I have a little titanium rod left over that someone kindly sent me ( was it Al ? Sorry, cant remember ! )... Happy to do you a set for the cost of the postage and a pint mate :)
And if anyone else wants them made and can supply the material I will do the same for them..

Knee down !

I've gotta admit I've never managed it either, I crap myself on most corners around here, they are either too rough, have overbanding on them, grids or just general shite like mud and grit.
I had to put knee sliders on my leathers to stop the damn velcro from catching on everything, but they are still nice and shiney !
What beats me is that the tyres are all nicely worn right round the edges but I don't feel like I'm ever near touching the knee down. Probably becasue I feel unsafe when I hang my arse off the side and I don't think you can manage knee downs with yer bum in the middle of the saddle.................can you ???

Cheers

Thanks Snowdog,

I phoned MPS silly cow on the phone said we do them in carbon coloured or clear she obviously did not have a clue what hero blobs were. Unless I could give her a part no. she could not help. So I ordered a catalogue which will take three weeks,, BOLLOX.

I don't suppose you know the part no. m8??

Russ, (re getting knee down with bum in seat). No unless you have very long legs (like Ben) or Gary Glitter stylie Knee sliders, you have not got a hope.:}

Cant remember whether we're M6's or M8 bolts mate so heres both part numbers
M6 TFSPK6

Or

M8 TFSPK8

Oh and you have a choice of colours too. lol

Either Alloy,Blue,Gold,Purple or Red when ordering just add the extra letter to the end of the part number for the colour you want.

I have touched them on the deck countless time's, just scuff's the plastic, although the other day I had a big bloke on the back, decked out real hard and did go through, but for normall touchdown's it's the duck's nut's.

Hi all. Jus' a new kid on this site, but read this thread with interest. I bought my 'bird new in '99 after having a GSXR-750. Oor lass didn't much like flapping like a rag in the wind on the Suzook so a Bird it was. Without her on the back (sometimes with her on the back - bruised kidneys, ouch!) I soon found ground clearance a problem. Tried all of the tricks, but best was to hang off like a frenzied baboon and keep the bird upright. Even doing this I managed to break the cast fairing bracket off (on the right hand side of the motor) and damage both fairings and exhausts. The next brainwave was to brake like fook into the bend, chuck it over then nail it through the exit. I got the first part wrong and lowsided it going into the corner mangling both hands at the same time. Play carefully men, and if all else fails wheelie past them on the straights. :}
