Rossi/Marquez......what do you think?....discuss!

If you watch F1, running someone wide is acceptable so long as you leave them tarmac. Rossi ran Marquez wide, he had tarmac but he lent in to make the corner whilst Rossi was still upright. Marquez should have used the tarmac ahead of him and did not have the right of the tarmac Rossi was on. If Marquez didn't lean in on him Rossi wouldn't have needed to put his foot out.

My view should be no penalty to Rossi, Marquez got his by not finishing.

Man, there's some real hypocrisy being spouted by some riders and former riders at the moment....:wank:

Many of them seem to have seriously short and/or selective memories.

I'm a dyed in the wool Rossi fan - despite that, I don't agree with what he did. But at the same time, I don't believe he meant to punt him off.

I think Marquez was holding Rossi up deliberately...and as Josh Brooks said: "Marquez was riding like a dick...". Nuff said.

I hope Vale does it at Valencia but the sad truth is it'll be a hollow victory.

People were not there to watch Marquez.

They wanted to see the battle between Jorge and Vale. Marquez had no important part in the race and was just being a vindictive little shit. He should have had a flag shown telling him to let Vale through. He has fucked what was a great year for MotoGP. Jorge should have kept his mouth shut after the race. Vale will be remembered long after he has retired. Who will remember the Spaniards? :wank:

WG Grace was once bowled out by an unknown bowler in in the first over of an exhibition match but remained at the crease. When the bowler protested he said; "People are here to see me bat and not you bowl. Keep on bowling" 8rfl@

Reckon Rossi should do a Senna and have a racing incident with Lorenzo ... job done.

If he can catch him from the back of the grid. I hope the riders in front of Rossi move over and let him through. That would say it all about how the majority feel about the GOAT.

What an arrogant twat, fair play goes out of the window just because of some prima donna's ego, what was the umpire doing letting him get away with it?

Having watched other races when Marquez had a slight chance of catching up in the championship he would have been happy to sit tight knowing they both may be in contention at the end when Lorenzo's tyres were shot.

Rossi knew he had the chance of catching the leaders towards the end in a normal race, as he is a master of tyre conservation.

Marquez was definitely trying to spoil the race and affect the championship.

Lorenzo knows in fair races it was going to be difficult to overturn Rossi's lead and wanted the championship handing to him on a plate.

Only thing that may happen now that may help Rossi, Marquez may try to beat Lorrenzo, just so he can say he wasn't helping him, meaning Rossi doesn't need to make up as many places.
It would be nice to see other riders let Rossi through.

What ever happens I believe Rossi won't be racing once his contract finishes and by being kept at Tech III with a contract extension, Bradley Smith will be taking the ride.

ps. Do you think the wall in the Yamaha garage will be back up?

It was an exhibition! People went to see WC Grace hit a few balls.
They could have done it in the nets but decided to put on more of a show.

Be like sending Wayne Rooney off at his testimonial.

Second thoughts arrogant twat...

My Thoughts (For what their worth)

Marquez could have gone off into the distance with Pedrosa he certainly had the power, which would have left Lorenzo and Rossi to duke it out. as Pedrosa said the rider with the inside line can go as wide as he likes. it was when Marquez lent on Rossi that Rossi seemed to push him away with his leg which must have caught Marquez brake lever. Putting Rossi at the back of the grid was too harsh considering it a two horse race.

Having seen the footage.....I think Rossi taunted Marquez into getting closer, Marquez took the bait, got close and eventually touched Rossi's knee with this helmet and Rossi pushed him away. Bottom line, in my opinion, Rossi defended his line and pushed him away deliberately and I feel in that situation legitimately. I am not saying that you can go and just push other racers with your leg (or hands or whatever at will) but given the situation, mid corner and Marquez initially bumping into Rossi, that Rossi was justified in his actions.

Near enough everyone will allow him straight through.

Mind you... there will be 9 Spaniards to pass along the way:eek:

Not sure what the fuss was about?

Carl Foggarty would never have won a race if a bit of pushing wasn't allowed.

Its was just racing as far as I could see...

Looked to me like Marquez was about to take them both out. Rossi acted in self defence, if he had not pushed him away with his knee, both bikes would have been out of the race.

Marquez should have abandoned the overtaking attempt on the corner, but he applies another burst of throttle instead, leaving Rossi no option but to defend his bike.

This is from a neutral standpoint, I am not a follower or fan of any particular rider.

If Rossi really was "The Doctor" then he would get in his Tardis & go back to just before the event a change the outcome.
