That should be ok - the listing says it is 'great' four times in the five sentences, 'first to drive will buy' and 'should give years of trouble free motoring'.

What more reassurance could you want?

Ps call me a cynic but the two broken springs migh possibly suggest a fairly heavy prang at some point....... the after market alloys adds more doubt in my mind

Prangs do not cause broken springs, Andy. Potholes do! The car shown is an example of what Diana now wants and NOT a specific car. I know anything under £50k is cheap and nasty to some but the art of coarse motoring is alive and well among many of us in the real world. I paid £500 for my current car and it has cost me buttons over the last 3/4 years. I am looking for a similar Mondeo estate to replace it and am budgeting about £1000. :D

My dad's first ever brand new car was an Austin Maxi 1750HL in Black Tulip ( a really dark purple) with a scarlet vinyl interior.

Doesn't get much better than that(y)

Austin Maxi, a roomy, practical hatchback! Not sure I ever spotted a yellow one though!

Learned to drive in one as soon as I could reach the pedals :) not sure my mam was too impressed though as I was only about 14 :D
