thats all very well John,

but John, what if you don't have that 'spare cash' to do what you say????? Don't tell me that what I would save not going fully comp would have paid for it, because it doesn't work like that!!!! :}

If I had had Fully Comp, I would have got something near the market value of the bike. I could then have easily bought another bike with that money.

With the NTV the damage was basically quite minor. Handlebars, light, couple of indicators and the clocks (which although expensive, in the realm of things were not) I think the total bill was around ?300, but then the clocks were a birthday/xmas present, so it was one bill I could easily make.

The difference for me between Fully Comp and ThPF&Th is very little. Believe me when I insured the NTV I checked. I just wanted the piece of mind that if I did bin it like the CBR I would get something back.

I know where you are coming from John, but I do think it depends on whether

A. You have the spanner skills or you know someone who has

B. YOu have friends who can help you out.

C. You have the spare dosh to be able to put it back together again.

The latter being the huge factor for me and a bike!!!!

I have pretty much given up the biking. As sadly what accidents I have had prey on my mind too much whilst riding. To the extent where it is almost bordering on fear. The thought of pain and I remember it well!! the thought of having to fork out more dosh, as I know I will bin again!!!

I have resigned myself more than happily to doing track days. What money I save on insurance and tax I can use to pay for them. I have access to two track bikes so I am pleased R#? My accidents have always been with regard to other traffic on the road, and although bikes are on a track we are all going the same way....................aren't we :dunno: :}
Anyway thats all for another thread, I am highjacking :t

No mate.. your thinking of the sales at Lakeside!

And now, brought to you by the forums own Mr fookin useless information at great personal expense.................

Taken from 'A history of the Royal East Kent regiment'

In April 1858, 2nd Battalion The Buffs sailed for Malta. Here they shared Florian Barracks with 1st Royal North British (subsequently Scots) Fusiliers. The adjutant of the 2nd Battalion had previously been a sergeant-major with the Fusiliers and bore a name that was to gain greater regimental fame in 1916, Cotter. He was eager that his raw battalion should shine on the barrack square and was apt to use the exhortation, ?Steady the Buffs; the Fusiliers are watching you.? This greatly amused the Fusiliers and they called out ?Steady The Buffs!? on the slightest provocation, both in Malta and when the two battalions met again in Dublin a few years later. The phrase caught on and was soon used by all and sundry when ever the Buffs marched by.

Well why did you stick with them if you thought the way they did business was quote 'not very nice' !

Given that carol Nash quotes are ok but very rarely the best, I think in your shoes I would have shopped around a little more rather than accept what you consider shite tactics !
