Hello all

My name is Kes Johnson and i am the Brand manager for
Honda Insurance.
When i say
Honda Insurance
i relate not to Devitts but the new officially endorsed scheme launched on 23rd February 2004 - the comments i would like to hear are about policies / quotes taken out or given after that date only.

The reason i have posted this on here is that earlier whilst looking on this forum i noticed comments made by certain people about Honda Insurance that i felt the need to defend - i think that by doing this i may have opened a can of worms but my take on this is that if you , the customers have a problem with the service we provide then i need to know - if i do not know then i cannot act.

I am therefore requesting , almost begging , that if you have ANY queries, problems, complaints or even a compliment that you reply to this post or email me and i will do all i can within my powers to assist you.

So far this afternoon i have acted on three posts : -

Two have had more than satisfactory results from me , a reduced excess and a saving of over ?400 on an insurance quote ( No names mentioned as i do not have permission to use them - see old posts )

One that when confronted with fact went quiet ( Again names re above )

So please help me to help you

Thank you for taking the time to read this, i look forward to hearing from you.

The above is a copy of the 1st post on my thread on the VFR Forum under the same title that has proved to be a very good way of their members airing views on Honda Insurance - it opened a can of worms i tell you - i have been on the forum for only two days now and already have a thread with over 100 posts with every single post and email replied to.

I would like to point out as i did on the VFR forum that i am not and will not ever tote for business , if business comes from this then so be it but ultimately that will prove i have done what i set out to do - Help you all.

I am more than happy to be emailed or called on any issues you may have relating to your insurance through Honda or any experience of the said insurance scheme - i will also be more than happy to answer any question you have about insurance in general.

The feedback i have received from Moderators on the VFR forum has been very very positive and as a result have been asked to do the same on here.

If any of you have access to the VFR forum you may wish to have a nosey at the link - feel free to shout , scream or compliment Honda Insurance but be honest with me and i will do all i can to help.

Get posting .....

Many thanks

Kes Johnson

You weren't cheaper than Carole Nash when I bought my Deauville new in August 04.Admittedly they added it to my existing policy, but from memory you were ?150 more.

Well done Kes

At last somebody who is prepared to listen. you have certainly put yourself in the line of fire, but hopefully reasonable comments can be taken on board and acted upon, I salute you for your innovative approach, and should things work out then I don't think you will have to tout for business,
I know from my own personal experience with Honda insurance at first I felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall until I spoke to the right person,

I was a bit put out at the time because the salesman who sold me the bike told me you might be cheaper

I dont even bother calling Honda insurance anymore, and they are never on my list of reccomended insurance companies.

When I first owned a bird I tried them, and again on a couple of subsequent years, and frankly, if it was up to Honda insurance then I would not be riding a Bird!

Now, if I was Mr Honda and I was trying to improve my buisness, then I would set up an insurance company that helped people ride Hondas, that added value to the Honda riding experience, and made it clear that when you buy a Honda and ride off the forecourt, then you will always be a Honda customer, well past the point where you have parted with your cash, and Honda no longer have any warranty commitments.

Sadly, Honda insurance just appears to be the lazy persons answer to obtaining insurance, and are happy to cream off the customers who are just that little bit too lazy to make the extra two or three phone calls to find a much better deal.

I got no problem with Honda Insurance, saved a few quid last year, lets hope it's still competitive next month at renewal time.
Phoenix the actual Honda one only started last year, you must be referring to the Devitt one that acted as Honda Insurance- two seperate entities now.

I for one, usually spend all morning making phone calls to find the best deals possible, last year it happened to be Honda Ins. I must admit, I could have got it ?10.00 cheaper, Butthe excess would have doubled.
Obviously I am not happy with the total amount I have to pay seeing how I have had many years without claiming but when you have to pay then there is no getting out of it (so find the cheapest and best) I will be contacting everyone again after I have seen what Honda offer me this next time, but don't get caught out with cheaper insurance until you have examined all the extra's that are included.Congratulations to Kes for putting his head above the parapet, until I have the unfortunate experience to have to use them, then I cannot say how good they really are :dunno:

Thanks for this.

Have just agreed to buy a new Bird. Picking it up in March. The showroom have said they will be talking to me about insurance then, so will let you know feedback thereafter...

Last time I bought a new bike, four or five years ago, Honda Insurance was far from competitive, which was a disappointment, as I was assured that they offered Honda customers preferential rates.

Cheers

I joined last year after loadsa positive posts on here and for me the Honda Insurance scheme was no problem at all. Saved me about ?78 (from memory) over Carole Nash, and the lad on the phone was a credit to the Company in my view (he said he would call back in ten minutes... and he did  ).

My only concern for the future is if there will be a major premium hike now that I have migrated and my business is now secured. Hopefully, that won't happen!

WEll I have just renewed with Honda, spent a morning around and got a ?25 cheaper quote with Laxtons, phoned Honda who dropped there price to ?5 more than Laxton's, so I got Fully Comp on a BB, also got a Suzy GS125 on the same insurance, ?325 for a 45 year old who passed his test 2 years ago, not a bad price esp as Virgin/CN were asking ?401 and ?450 respectivly. Laxtons on Instalments wanted ?360, with Honda it was only ?15 extra, so I stayed with Honda.

Only gripe with Honda, as is most companies is WHY cant we have the cheapest price first?? Unless it is purely to make money out of lazy peeps who cant/wont ring around?

Got a deal from Honda that was almost ?200 cheaper than Carole Nash. Then, when I bought a second Bird, they added it to the policy on the same terms for only a ?50.00 admin fee. Thought that was a great deal.

gotta agree with you si...had a renewal quote off honda 3 weeks ago for ?395,then a call to virgin..got a quote for ?365,then on monday this week..a letter from honda lands on my doormat confirming the cost to be ?395,and that if i'd recieved a cheaper quote elsewhere..to give them a call.i did this and they did it for ?320...?75 cheaper than their original quote,so i took it there and then...makes you bloody mad though :bang:

Dear Mr Johnson

when you say you are the brand manager for Honda insurance, do you mean you are employed by Honda to provide insurance under an Honda insurance scheme funded by Honda, or are you a broker offering insurance to Honda owners within a block booking scheme?

I merely ask for clarification purposes.

Coggy and Richard et all

Im sorry but it is difficult for me to comment on Quotes being bad or quotes being good - i have a thread on the VFR forum that has proved to be very very popular but i went on this morning and it has been closed :bang:

I have been accused of 'drumming for business' and i do not want that to happen on here.

I will help you all with specific queries relating to Honda Insurance and queries about insurance in general but sorry to both of you , but some people are clearly confused about my motives.

Many thanks
Kes

I am sorry that you have had a bad experience but had you have read my original post you would have seen that Honda Insurance only started on 23rd February 2004 - you are clearly talking about Devitts :shooter:

Maybe now i have cleared that up you will try us ?
