When I had my settee delivered the delivery men unpacked it outside brought my settee inside and drove off leaving the packaging in the garden when I queried it I was told it was down to me to dispose of it
Oddly there is a legal reason too..
By law the packaging is your.. you bought it along with the setee.
Apparently the seller has to have in place all sorts of legal doodads which you should sign to say you give them permission to have it !
I came across it a couple of years ago when we had new carpets..
The stupid thing is, they could ( and did ) take away the old carpets no probs, but the plastis bag and cardboard roll they could not take ( though after a another cuppa and a bit of banter they did ) because I had effectively bought the stuff !

Same when you have something delivered on a pallet - normally a cup of tea and a digestive gets them to take it away though.

A friend has built a fence round his garden out of pallets, there’s a guy who sells garden furniture made out of pallets, looks quite good.

I have made loads of stuff out of pallets, from sheds to fences, tables chairs & planters in fact the floating shelf in our front room is made from pallet bearers .......... timber is timber no matter where it comes from but I do like to use reclaimed stuff if at all possible

I once got hold of some pallets from the Prison, they had been used to hold the weights in the gym & were being thrown away, they measured about five feet x five feet & were made out of piranha pine laits, I dismantled them & made a really strong fence round the field, the posts were half sleepers.

Yeah, I've got one of your upcycled pallet clocks. Trying to make it look like a bike brake disk by drilling holes and spraying it silver.... now that was a bit cheeky. :D
