Not happy at all

Bought a new oak dining table & six chairs, it should have been just over £3k but we got it for less than half price, pretty happy with that.
Delivered today in 8 boxes & I have had to put it together myself, at that price it should have come at least mostly assembled, I even had to fix the seats to the chairs, I now have loads of cardboard & polystyrene to get rid of.

The Ikea one we had was a glass top on a metal frame & was ready assembled, was very good actually but we got bored with it.

Regardless of saving money I don’t expect to assemble £3k worth of furniture & have to dispose of the packaging.

Which only works if there are enough trees around for us not to run out in the 100 years or so it takes to grow a reasonable sized oak !

So the trees that formed from the fallen acorns 100 years ago are now ready.
If there aren’t enough acorns then blame the squirrells.

When I had my settee delivered the delivery men unpacked it outside brought my settee inside and drove off leaving the packaging in the garden when I queried it I was told it was down to me to dispose of it

Robert Thompson is a total knob as is his son Andrew.

It was one of the best moments of my life when I heard that Robert had been done for drink driving.

Several years ago we spent £3000 on an oak table & six chairs from Baker’s in Wakefield, the table looked really nice but after a couple of years we could never seem to get it to sit level & it had an annoying wobble. When we moved we sold a lot of furniture but we took that table to the tip.
