Or better still one of those Ronald Regan masks I've seen in a film once.
Good film All the President Men I think with Patrick Swayzee.

try this....

I filled up at Sainsburys in Peterborough this afternoon, full face lid on, visor up, earplugs in, buff on glasses on, wallet open ready to pay.

"Take your helmet off mate" (not that I know this herbert of course)

"nope, too much hassle"

"can't serve you then"

loudly enough so bloke in next county can hear "so you don't want me to pay for the fuel then?"

"well of course we do"

"take yer pick, my helmet off, or my cash, either, not both" says I.

he took my cash. :f

Next time, I'm gonna say "ok" and take my lid off, and all the other stuff aswell, pay them and then block the queue as I stand at the cashier and slowly put it all back on again.

feck 'em.

Filled the car up on Sunday morning at the filling station near Hurst Cross, Ashton Under Lyne and was asked to PAY for the fuel first.
It only applies to the two pumps adjacent to the exit and is because they have had too many drive offs.
Anyone else had to pay up before dispensing fuel?

Yeah going to pick my daughter up from Batley Frontier one night called in a filling station (asian) didn't see the sign at first but when I did I got back in the car and drove to the next one, the sign said 'Non Asians, pay before refuelling', which brings me on to my next gripe during the petrol strike in 2002, there was an Asian petrol station at St Michaels in wakefield that actually had a sign saying Asian 'Taxi drivers only' I have not used that station since.

If you've ever been to the US it is custom to pay first to avoid the drive-off thing. If you do it by card then you dont normally have to go back in to sign again after fuelling. Just what you're used to I guess
