I sort of built it , I picked it up about 2 years ago part built with a 2.0L engine but it had 2 complete blackbird engines and a conversion kit to instal the engine with it
The car wasn't how i wanted it so I striped it and started again
It was a bit of a nightmare but I used it last summer and it was worth it, not sure if the misses would agree

This is it with the engine fitted and running

New Guy ... New Bike

Hi
I am new, I have been on various XJR 1300 `s for the past 6 years, today I walked into several bike showrooms looking for another XJR or a Honda VFR Vtec. In the last showroom about 1 hour ago I saw for a sale a really old Blackbird, showroom condition and affordable.

Bought it and pick it up in a couple of days. Thing is ...... Never ridden one, never sat on one, cannot really recall noticing one. But I now have one !

I am now sat here thinking am I a :wank: er or have I done a good thing ?

I am often at Squires, easy to recognize, I am the old guy with a Blue One.

Cheers

The only bad things you have done are buy a blue one and support man city or football generally. but as blue ones are girls bikes and football is a girls game I guess they go together. I assume you are gay? :-0)

Welcome anyway.

Hmm, I strongly suspect that once you have got used to the Bird, you will wonder, (as I did), why the hell you kept riding the XJR for so long! (I owned mine for 7 years....and loved it), its a great bike, looks ACE, tours two up no issues, can scratch if you want to, BUT, the Bird just does all that MUCH better..........If you don't think so after this summer, go back to the XJR. Bet you regret it if you do...

welcome by the way, shame you support the wrong Manchester club though.....b0x2

Just joined today. Not got my Bird yet but negotiated a nice deal from someone on here. Money will be exchanging hands shortly....
Currently ride a Yam XV1700 US import, and a 75 Bonneville T140V (sometimes). Plans are for many long trips on the Bird. Spain, N Africa (avoiding the Sahara would be good), and more.
Been riding for 40 years - but my first Bird. :)

:dunno: welcome, what took you so long to find us............

Spent too long riding XJRs, XV1700s, and other weird stuff. Finally decided was time to put some serious miles in again and stop tooling around! :)

Im crap at this internet stuff so here go's :dunno:. I got my Bird xxy 2 years ago from a honda dealer in harleston suffolk 35,000 on clock . They clamed all checks had been done and everything in order but camchain tensioner was fucked so asked them to sort it within 3 month warranty and then they were :wank:ers about it but after 4 other garages in my local area backed me they did the work.
I've put that bad experiance behind me now and with 50,000+ miles on the clock i have to say she's the best bike i've had all round.bl4hbl4h
I have been looking in the forums and it appears i have made some mistake in not getting here earler :eek:as i got a K&N air filter when i bought a 4-1 akrapovic titanium for ?350 on ebay and progressive springs after getting a de-link kit from your very own JAWS:bow: .
I hope to gain more info and make better informed decisions to keep her on the road and be able to lean a few cost cutting tips.
I would like to thank you all for the information i have seen so far
