Always wanted to say hello to a python, up close and personal, but haven't had the chance to date. Said hello to a large lizard thingy in SA last year, enjoyed that one

the gekos Susans but about 20 yaers ago we had a riticulated (spelling) python called

yep you guessed it called Monty, had it for about 12 years.

Started out about a foot long and then grew to be round about 12 foot and about 3 stone in weight.

By then he was the boss and the fooker nearly strangled me more than once, sadly he caught some infection and I had to have him put to sleep.

gawd an bennet!!! talk about a feeder!! just tried Reg on a fluff!! talk about GONE!! heres a picture of all thats left of the fluff, and that was because I didnt let go quickly enough, he scoffed that and even now is "looking" for afters, as he was supposed to have been fed on friday, we were a bit surprised he took it at all, as they are known to be "fussy" if in a new inviroment or having travelled, I suspect we arnt going to have any trouble feeding Reg
BTW Chinky Minky lots of these snakes are captive bred and wouldnt survive in the wild, plus the "locals" kill them for no reason as they arnt harmful to humans or their pets, :dunno:

we use the critters to teach responsibility to our kids, plus they give us a load of pleasure watching them, all the lizards and snakes we have are well cared for and Tina has been complemented on numerous occasions by "professionals" as to their condition!!
they are all handled regularly "exept Reg cos he has to get used to us"
I don't like dogs much, "or to put it another way" the jumpy up type that wont fuck off when you tell it!! or the fekin owners that just laugh and say OOH look he/she likes you!! cats do their own thing, and the rest of the choices are out due to feeding/exercising reasons, snakes and lizards are generally easy to keep, cheap to feed and can go a couple of days without food, (given you provide fresh water) so a weekend away is possible without the need for sitters/kennels, :dunno:
