What part is not fact?
I do not need to provide evidence, you are desperate for me to provide evidence, probably to stimulate your sexual thoughts in your lone hours
1. They a re a fraction of the price of a BMW. Sweeping statement and brand not necessarily true. Ok, A bum basic Dischcloth is peanuts compared to an M8, fair enough, but you have to compare like with like. The Dishcloth's closest BMW rival, in the loosest possible terms would be an X1. The cheapest Dishcloth is £13,395 and the cheapest X1 is £29,935 (according to the respective websites). Considering the gulf in class, quality and refinement, the difference isn't unreasonable.

2. Well, they both get you from A to B, so I guess that counts as doing the same job. However, requiring the assistance of the AA or RAC doesn't really count.

3. Not all BMWs are driven by big egos in the same way that not all Dacia's are driven by tightwads or poor people.

I don't 'need' evidence that you drive a Dishcloth. I have asked you to prove that you do, that's all. The fact that I can't wrap my head around the fact that you seem to be proud to drive one and without a paper bag on your head is neither here nor there.

Sexual thoughts over a Dishcloth? Whilst I admit to being a disgustoid, I haven't stooped to that level of depravity!

Two year old x1 with 60,000 on the clock, £20,000.
Two year old (top of range) duster with 3000 on the clock £12,000.
I am as proud as when I bought my Octavia when people were paying way over the top for the equivalent Audi or VW

An Octavia is a VW with a different badge.

And I'd pay the extra £8k for the BM over the Dishcloth in a heartbeat.

The Octavia is a different proposition altogether; I'd have another over any Audi or VW. My vRS was an absolute animal and I kept her for five years. The only reason I got rid was because some silly woman drove into the side of her and I needed a new door. I had to send the car back to have the door re-sprayed twice because the paint wasn't proper matched and I could tell the difference from 50 yards away. To my simple mind, it was only going to get worse as new paint would naturally discolour at a different rate to older paint and the disparity would reappear at some stage, most prolly when I was trying to trade the car in. Once it was done proper and to my satisfaction, then I had to let her go. I'd have had another if the dealer in Maidstone wasn't such a cock.

clever marketing.
Let me get this right, Skoda & VW are exactly the same but because of clever marketing people will pay more for a VW.
On that level your only reason for buying BMW is due to clever marketing, you are led to believe that because you are spending more (& losing more in depreciation) you are getting a superior vehicle.
1982 we bought a house in Chelmsford for £22,950, a year later we moved to Wakefield & put the house up for £24,500, never even got any viewings, sacked the agent & registered with another, house was valued at £28,500, we advertised at £27,950 & sold in three days.
Some people are crazy & would rather pay top money rather than get a bargain.

The relevance is that some people are easily led into believing that because they are willing to part with more money they are getting what they pay for, I have no doubt that BMW’s are more comfortable than Dacias but I don’t believe that the difference in price is warranted, if I had to drive to say Plymouth I know I could do it in my Duster without a break, not sure I could do it in Bev’s Panda.

If I drop a few quid on the premium bonds, I'm going to buy a Panda 4x4.
