Guess what? The latest issue of Bike has the X11 as a muscle bike! Not that I was too bothered about it, but I know some of you are. I've got better things to do like posing on my "Big One".
But what do BIKE Magazine know...they put a Hayabusa as a "litre sportsbike",a BMW Funduro as a "big trail bike",a ZX12R & a 1000Fazer in the same catagory,as a "sports tourer"(when the Thunderace is in "big all rounders"). They put a Priller Tuono,Z1000 & X11 in muscle bikes...dont they all look JUST like those early 80's racers that the genuine muscle bikes are modelled on...NOT...!!! & the ZRX1200S is,aparrently,a "sports tourer" with 122bhp,while its identical brother(identical apart from the S has a bigger fairing),the 1200R,is a "muscle bike" with only 112bhp.
With inconsistancies like that, how can anyone take them seriously...? Most of the writers of that mag wernt even born when musclebikes ruled the roads.
The X11 IS NOT a musclebike. Its a naked all rounder.Fast yes,fun yes, powerful yes. . . but with looks like that, only its mother or a blind man could love it.
The list of GENUINE musclebikes is:
Kawasaki ZRX1100/1200R
Kawasaki Zephyr 1100
Honda CB1000 Big One
Honda CB1300
Suzuki GSX1400
Yamaha XJR1200/1300
Thats pretty much it. Twin shocks, twisty steel frames, big fat 4 cyl motors. . . just like the bikes on which they were modelled & from which they drew their inspiration & musclebike title from... CB750/900/1100R,Z1000/1100R,GS/GSX1000/1100 & XS1100...the MUSCLEBIKES !
Now if you can convince me that an X11,Bandit,Monster,Tuono etc etc etc looks-or has any links or linage to any of those bikes, then they'll be musclebikes...but you never will...cuz they havnt...
And thats an end to it...!bl4hbl4h
