Be interesting how the whole thing will be monitored specially after the recent fuss about the accuracy of gatsos. Bring it on - like the idea of claiming the plate was stolen!! :yo:

A few years ago I was teaching advanced motorcycling by way of doing a demo ride. One of the best roads in my area is the A339 between Basingstoke and Alton. It was 1000hrs on a sunny Sunday morning.

I was stopped, along with my students to be 'advised' of the speed limit. When I questioned being stopped with the nice gentleman who had been standing at the side of the road he admitted that he along with a minibus of others, a volvo and 2 police bikes had been deployed purely to stop motorcycle to talk to them about speed limits even if they were not speeding, cars were passing without problem.

The reason was a person living between that point and Basingstoke was a local councillor who had 'heard' motorcycles speeding past his house and he was not happy about it. mmmm makes you think.

Mac, if I was given an instruction like that I would have told the council bloke to fuc* off. I can?t believe some of the drivel the county lads deal with, the MET has a totally different attitude to bikers and London bikers get a very long leash, (as long as they are ok listening to some advice from us). It may be because we are all big bikers, most of us have got illegal cans and enjoy giving it large and we are forever dealing with serious accidents involving bikers caused by arseholes driving cars who should take the bus.
