I have a blueflame Evo w/out baffles and it passed the MOT. Unless you're ragging it the sound is quite mellow and rumbly (!).

Nice one! This is interesting, 'coz I am going to have to have my Power Commander re-mapped (it's currently custom mapped for the ART cans and K&N filter).

I'm not sure how much difference it would make to the tuning by having baffles in/out, etc, so if the db is MOT acceptable with them out, then that'll be the setting to go for. (I think!)

Well without the PC fitted my bike was fine with K & N + Blueflames with all baffles fitted, with all the baffles out there was a Black hole between 2-3.5K, so bad that I couldn't even overtake a lorry in third

Fitted the PC with a generic map and there has been an improvement but still not very good, at the mo' I run it with the top baffles in and the plugs removed from the bottom holes; it sounds nice (without being un sociable) and the fuelling feels about right

It's going down to Race Developments to have a custom map done in the next couple of weeks so I'm looking forward to see what difference it'll make.

As this is my first Bird Bash, and Bird ride out(s) I thought I better check on something....

My race cans are incredibly loud - ART titanium, with no baffles at all, as far as I can tell! Whatever fibre padding was in there 5 years ago is now just crusty carbon...

Anyway, I wanted to check if there were any issues with this for the ride-outs. You'd be surprised at the dirty looks I've had in the past!! Especially from bedroom curtain twitching neighbours I've woken when I used to leave for work at 06.30 - dunno what their problem was??

Also, I have a tiny, 'weird graphic' number plate. I can refit the legal version if required.

I have a feeling I'm worrying too much, and I've been dithering asking this But now we approach the 4 week countdown (yippee!) so I've decided to check, just in case!. I've been window shopping some Blue Flame cans, and would consider taking the leap if need be..

p.s. Really looking forward to the Bash! Here's hoping for fantastic weather.

ps.. Honestly, I dont really care about cans, and reasonable sized number plates would be nice, as 60 to 70 bikes being stopped by plod every 10 miles can get a bit tiring....(if you know what I mean - wink wink)

Yup quite agree cans are fine but I've never seen the point of small number plates, they are just asking to get pulled

Phew (deep breaths) OK - the cans FINALLY arrived this morning (Argghh!!)

Bought direct from the Blue Flame factory. The so called 7 day turn-around turned into a marathon 3 and a half weeks.

I only got them today because I harassed them yesterday, and they sent them by Fedex (arrived at 9 this morning as promised). Rushed cans (still in boxes) and bike straight round to Race Engineering (local tuners) who were on standby, and they did a stirling job of fitting and remapping power commander.

Literally rode the bike back home, and next outing will be tomorrow to the Bash!

I'm sure the neighbours will be appreciative too :-0)

See you all there.
