John if you try your ECM on a known good bike as Taff suggests, it will create your faults on the other bike. Irrespective of the knock sensor..

At no financial outlay whatsoever it will prove that your ECM IS faulty which we all think it is ;-0))

got to be worth a free shot at least before you spend any money :dunno:

4 pages later and as much as Ive enjoyed the thread cant help but think that its 4 pages to many :dunno:

Really glad your sorted this time tho John @tu*

My next problem is working out how to fit the HISS chips to my keys

Well done chap, Key chip change...

The covers on the keys, the shiny plastic bit with the Honda logo, carefully slide a stanley knife blade around the edges slowly working it in, the covers come off quite easily. then remove the chip, tiny watch makers screw driver helps, insert the new chips.. apply double sided tape to the logo cover, re-attach, job done.

I've kept my old chips with the ECM also, just in case.. as the bike does still run on it albeit a bit rough.

Glad you sorted the problem, sorry it was the ECM.. but, I told you so. @tu*

There's some good stuff if you explore the previous link about hacking ECU's d34l. Unfortunatley only one Kehien ECU (Honda use Kehien). Most are Denso ECU's. Might be something to explore during the winter lay off.

well I hope your problem is solved mate but as the weather is cold right now not sure you will have the conditions to highlight your problem until next year, cold is cold i.e. less than 17c, when you had this problem during the summer I'd be pretty sure on a cold day it was never below 17c which to me seems to indicate you need higher temps to trigger your problem than you will find in Nov onwards but I guess you're the one that knows.

Quote from an earlier post in this thread in July - After fitting the X11 cct I took the bike for an 80 mile spin, but as luck would have it, the conditions were cool and damp. The result was a smooth ride with no problems. I assumed the problem to be cured, until the next time I rode the bike (dry warm day) when the buzz returned :bang:. This was in July, surely it was not as cold as is now i.e. less than 13c

Thanks for the words of encouragement smeds. As it turns out we in the southern part of the UK are experiencing very warm dry weather at the moment. It was 16C last night. I put the bins out in shorts and a t-shirt lol.
