I ask to speak to the person who set the policy.
If it then proves impossible for anyone to actually explain the company's stand point I offer to take the matter before an ombudsman.
If you would like to involve them you can find the info you need at http://www.financevictims.co.uk/ombudsmen/insurance-ombudsman/
Remember folks...........
Dont be a victim, be pro-active. In the long run everyone will benefit !
I threatened Honda insurance with the Ombudsman, over the issue of them misquoting me by ?200, I was informed that legally Honda had done nothing wrong, as a quote is not legally binding, however luckily I was dealing with a salesman with a conscience who let me have the insurance at the price first quoted.
I have contacted the insurance ombudsman in the past over the issue of bike/car insurance not being compatible, and their answer was "Well neither is your household insurance" my reply to them was that if I have an accident in my car or on my bike it does not affect my household premium, 5 years later and I have still not had a reply to that one
