The dreaded hunt for insurance, renewal up end of Feb, last premium with Honda, ?300 plus ?500 excess (compulsory), that was with 3Yrs NCB, fully comp, clean licence, etc.
Just had a quote from Bennetts after a flyer thru door, ?495 with excess ?600
I had a claim early last year, some joker hit my car when it was parked on a car park unattended and drove off, how much will this effect my renewal with Honda :dunno: declared it to them at the time.

Renewal thru from Honda, ?350 Fully Comp and taking in the mishap with the car, increase of ?50, presumably 'cause of the claim on the car insurance which I declared to them at the time. Not bad I s'pose? :dunno:

Just spoken to Honda Insurance, they say yes the incident with my car is on file as notified by me, but NO it does not affect your bike insurance, the increase of ?50 on my premium is just the best quote they could get me this year. If thats true why do bennetts and virgin claim it does affect your bike insurance and hike the premium accordingly???? :bang: :dunno:

The insurance companies want it all their own way, you can build up a full no claims bonus in a car but it doesn't count towards a bike and vice versa, but if you have an accident with one it affects the other, I have argued this with insurance companies, but I just get the same feeble excuses, from lame brained wishy washy, namby pamby, f*ckin jobsworths, "I understand what you are saying but it's not my fault it's company policy, and all companies do it" :bang:

Derek, I no longer settle for 'its company policy' with insurance people.
I ask to speak to the person who set the policy.
If it then proves impossible for anyone to actually explain the company's stand point I offer to take the matter before an ombudsman.

If you would like to involve them you can find the info you need at http://www.financevictims.co.uk/ombudsmen/insurance-ombudsman/

Remember folks...........
Dont be a victim, be pro-active. In the long run everyone will benefit !
