Part of the A470 near me has been reduced from 70mph to 50mph to reduce pollution and there’s average cameras there to keep an eye on things. By and large, people stick to the limit. However, idiot Welsh government announced there’s no fines if you’re caught speeding, just a nice letter asking you not to do it again

I once had a bedroom ground floor next to the road. I discovered that the last bus took a short cut back to the garage.
After a week I never noticed it anymore.

Lost for words.

however, I think the fact that Planning Permission was given needs looking at, it doesn’t take a lot of thinking about to realise pollution is obviously going to be a problem.

There have been numerous cases over the years about people buying properties near cricket and golf facilities then complaining that they are in range of cricket and golf balls. All have been dismissed.
Why does the planning permission need looking at, its obviously not green belt. Surely its the sanity of people who pay £350k for such houses that needs looking at.

Feck knows how many times I have seen this sort of crap over the years, its not exactly rocket science is it, if noise bothers you go and live somewhere quiet stupid bitch needs a slap and so does whoever reported it for giving the stupid entitled cow a voice

Just like the stupid lot that bought a house in Kirby Mallory 50 yds from the main gate then complained about the noise from the racing and the amount of cars and bikes going in on race or practice days

Environment and impact is a major factor in any Planning application.

For the sake of clarity, I am not saying that the purchaser can ‘blame’ anyone other then thesmselves for their situation.

But I am questioning why Permission was given to domestic dwellings on that site. Sadly it again points to the pressure Planning departments are under to allow new build houses to meet government targets.

By the way, don’t for one minute think ‘green belt’ is immune from new development- it isn’t!

Permission was probably given as there are already existing houses on that stretch of road right next to them, albeit set back 10m from the kerb...

Had a case in Wakey where someone bought a house a couple of doors away from a chippy then complained about the smell from it and tried to get it shut down. Don't know what the council's reaction was but the chippy is still there.

God those houses look ugly. If they're an example of the house she bought, it explains everything. Should've gone to Specsavers as she must be blind as a bat and probably couldn’t see the road.

it makes me very sad to see new builds that look like that. Zero thought has gone into them and there is zero architectural merit. Being in a bad location cannot excuse that.

The ‘blanked off’ window on the topfloor of the property in the left of the photo, says everything.

I use that piece of road all the while and really don't know why anyone would consider buying there unless the house was very very cheap, obviously not the case with this silly bitch :(

I'm guessing it was blanked off for reasons of overlooking.
The method of keeping the windows to the outer leaf of brickwork leaves the facade without any depth. There's no deep shadow at the window.
That very rarely happens in Ireland if ever.

To allowing new build so close to a busy road isn't good, including health reasons.
I guess the other houses were there before the road existed or got so busy.

The attic in my last house would have a black "dust", it wasn't far from a main road and the road had a fair bit of through traffic.
Attic in this house is quite clean.
In a dead end and road nearby not so busy.
