I get the distinct impression that she made a mistake but as usual these days, is finding someone else to blame.

It's a bit like moving next door to a pub then complaining that they 'live next to a pub' :BangHead:

What made her think it was going to be peaceful living right next to a duel carriageway?

I work in Coleshill and always wondered why they built houses there, seemed nuts to me...surprised she didn't mention the sound of motorbikes too (ahem). I'm heading into work tomorrow too, might have to drop a gear or two on the way past her house!

Lost for words.

however, I think the fact that Planning Permission was given needs looking at, it doesn’t take a lot of thinking about to realise pollution is obviously going to be a problem.

There have been numerous cases over the years about people buying properties near cricket and golf facilities then complaining that they are in range of cricket and golf balls. All have been dismissed.

Also, not sure my dream house would be in Coleshill either...but you pays your money and takes your choice - then moan like hell about it.

That and the Shell petrol station about 200m away...wouldn't like to be downwind of that either.

Just goes to show that you really need to do your homework when buying property. I always without fail make loads of visits at different times of day and in particular at weekends to see what’s going on. Always always always ask yourself why someone is selling - you really don’t want to inherit their problem - sadly there are tens of thousands if not more scrotes who are regarded as ‘bad neighbours’ for one reason or another And sellers will never disclose that they have them in pre-contract enquiries.

....and to top it off, HS2 is being worked on 200m the other way up the dual carriageway too.
TBH that piece of road is always busy, just wait till the M42 is closed for whatever reason, then the whole of that road becomes a car park as people try and avoid it. There are some benefits to working from home during this pandemic thingy.

When they built a line of houses backing on to Mildenhall runway their was all sorts of noise complaints.. So they fitted treble glazing and put up a second solid fence.. Eventually went to court and the tribunal more or less told the residents to F off and grow up !

Well..... She did make seven visits to the property to make sure it was the right one for her!

Maybe she thought that they would close the road at 9pm just for her....

To be honest, I have the A329(M) about 50 yards from the back of my property, and whilst not as busy as something like the M4, M1 or whatever, it has never been obtrusive.

There are traffic lights just north of the house, and people do give it the beans up the hill then past those houses, but that has always been the case. I guess it's not constant noise like a motorway.
