not of the baby variety, heaven forbid!!!!

Just before Xmas my boss gave me a lovely present of making me redundant. Totally out of the blue and major panic time. I was very ill over Xmas, as I suffer with depression and things were seriously bad. Xmas and New Year are basically a blur now and that was nothing to do with alcohol!!

Anyway, due to impending redundancy it means that not only do i lose my job but my home too. I work as a housekeeper and the accommodation comes with the job.

So the last few months I have been frantically looking for something and phoning up agencies everyday. I wanted to remain in Sussex or the bordering areas so my choices were more limited, and due to having my little boy (cat) seperate accommodation was a must.

Finally I had an umpteenth interview two weekends ago with a family out in Lindfield near Haywards Heath. Really nice family and a lovely area with very good accommodation. They offered me the job on Sunday evening and I have accepted.

My present boss had me working all over Easter up to the 8th of April, then sling your hook over that weekend. Why? So she could have her holiday in the South of France.

So, I finish here on the Thursday before Good Friday and have thrown them in to turmoil!!! :f

So I am a happy, relieved, but emotionally and physically exhausted bunny at the moment. All the stress has knocked the stuffing out of me.

Big thanks to Fat Bert, for reasons only known to he and I, ooooooer :k

Anyone got any empty boxes??? :}

Well done BIF, i think i know how you feel, its like carrying a rucksack full of bricks around all day and then eventually DOWN YA GO, your invisible on the floor and people are walking over you.
One day someone else in a similar situation or who knows why you fell sees you and takes away some of the bricks thereby letting you get back onto your feet and make progress. :k

thanks guys for your words

of encouragement and understanding, means alot. I think there are alot more folk who suffer with depression than realise. It really is a nasty thing and unfortunately when times are stressful it makes it 100 times worse.

Yup, as they say what goes around comes around and believe me they most certainly have alot coming their way!!!

Jaws, you're right. I have been unhappy in this job for over a year and have only been here a year and 10 months!!! :} I have always been a sticker and to be honest sticking at this job has helped in the CV dept. Also, I believe that not giving up makes you a stronger and more wise person.

Anyway, looking forward to a new start and a little more dosh too :lick:

 to you all

Good luck with the new job.

And what Robbo said.

Depression is a nasty thing seldom recognised others because there is nothing visible. Keep on fighting it, and don't let it get the better of you.

I feel good......(James Brown)

Pleased to hear your good news Alison.
I still see a mental health nurse and I'm down to 30mg of Paroxetine (Seroxat) a day. I feel better now than I have for a number of years.
Depression is not taken nearly so seriously as it should be. Some GPs don't understand but thankfully there are now more specialists and nurses in the NHS .
