Just the low, I think that's enough :-0) Don't ride a lot at night anyway.

BREAKING NEWS!!

HID is a massive improvement over OEM lighting on a Bird.

JFDI - dip and main (latter is great for illuminating road signs, hedges and trees, but is still 245,367 times better than standard)

i hate them
when everyone on the road has them, you'll soon see why.

but if i had a pick up and lived in the outback, they could have their uses. just not for regular roads when having to dip the lights every minute.

dazzling, and fitted by moron's who couldn't fit a plug might be a fault,
but now under new legislation in uk unless they come standard from the factory. so if you cause a accident by dazzling someone, and it can be proved, you could end up in court.

It means some are blindly offended by the same stuff being repeated over and over again

Whilst others appreciate without that crap the forum would be empty 8rfl@

Sooo,,, what is better, to take the time to reply to folk, be it repeated stuff or not, or be rude and say 'go look for your self'..

It may come as a shock to you, but it is NOT my life long ambition to spend hours on here repeating the same stuff over and again ( lord knows how many times over the years )

On the club site I have put very detailed info pages about all sorts of things, such as how to check your charging circuit, how to fit an oiler, how to do all different things, yet folk still ask on here the same questions and I still take the time to reply, in detail if possible to problems and questions..

Simple answer is, if the style of how the forum is used is not to your taste, you do not have to use it as a social sort of place.. Just use it for specific info as many others do :p No one takes offence and that is, after all, your choice @tu*

Got both Hi and Low fitted with HIDs and has passed MOT 2 years in a row now, no problem.
@tu*
Out here in the sticks (Cornwall) they are great and wouldn't dream of going back to standard bulbs.

HID law change

As from last year HID retro fit will get you a ?60 fine if not fitted with self levellers. Should be a MOT fail if the test is by the book.

Hate to say it but you need to go claim your ?60.00 back mate

It was muted as going in to the MOT book but like many other 'new' MOT conditions it was dropped

Visit the VOSA site and confirm it for your self :p

The only rule it breaks is non-self leveling and as has been said repeatedly not one policeman ( with a half penneth of savy ) nor VOSA men themselves are doing anything about it, unless of course you use some cheapo chinese crap off of eBay with a beam pattern similar to a lighthouse.. Then you are asking for trouble !!

Just about all agencies accept and appreciate the fact the brighter lights are saving lives.. and not a few but lots and lots

I've fitted quite a few hids to both my bikes and cars and have yet to have an issue at mot time.

I get the impression as long as you choose between 4500k-6000k then the light is more or less bright white and most have no problem with that. Start to go boy racer colours then plod and the mot stations tend to notice to the negative.
