Quite possibly the previous owner has had problems & poss got pipes mixed up, one of the pipes that lead to the t piece that goes to the right hand side has had a piece of kitchen roll stuffed into it obviously to stop leaks, think ill replace the diaphragm regardless, might also restrip carbs & do a more thorough job as everything looked ok. Floats were free & seemed to work fine so I more or less just out it back together.

Thanks everyone for your advice.

Could this be the problem?
The diaphragm on the fuel tap has 1 pin hole in it
Which I could only see with a high power torch held against it in a dark garage.
I hope this is it I'm starting to regret buying this bike

it should not have a hole in it as when is being pulled by the vac that small hole will open up and let fuel pass and then pull it all the way down the vac pipe in to the pot and make in run rough

Well Iv eventually got the replacement fuel diaphragm installed everything back exactly where they were removed from filled with petrol started the bike & upto this point no leaks atall.
Bike didn't rev very well but I put this down to a cold engine.
Then after a miniute or so the bike stalls and petrol once again Is pissin out all over.
I have a feeling the hoses are in the wrong places but they are exactly where they came from, meaning the previous owner has been tinkering,
Simplified the 2 larger pipes(fuel hoses) go to left & right of fuel tap,
Overflow pipe directly to the tank(large pipe),vacuum pipe (from below carb to side of fuel tank opposite overflow) breather hose (pipe with a t piece 1 side of t at bottom of diaphragm body 1 side on the side of diaphragm body the remaining hangs down the left hand side of engine.
Does that make sense & sound right?

this is wrong from my under standing the pipe from under the carb should be the vac pipe from bike and go on the back side of tap

the small metal tail out the tank should all so have tube running down to the road same as the vet pipe

Well that's the petrol leak problem sorted! But now can't get bike started, blurred vision has kicked in so ill have another try tomorrow, well pleased though started to make progress on it, then all I need to do is brake piston seals, bleed brakes, fill tank with petrol and off I go

You have found the vac pipe off the nipple under the cab's..........

Make sure it's sucking on ya finger when you turning the bike over

Now that pipe must go on the the nipple on the cover of the tap and not the one shown on the body of the tap as that is a blank
