Was travelling down to the inlaws tonight to pick up my daughter and I got passed by a Skyline. Wifey clocked it and utters that she liked the looks of the car, (Twas a R33 GT-R VSpec for the petrol heads out there). I mentioned that I have always liked them and she hits me with a nasty proposition. "Get rid of the Bird and you can have one!" Needless to say, I hear you cry, you told her NEVER!!! Over my dead body, etc, etc.....Actually no, I never said anything like it. In fact, I am sitting here seriously considering it. Tyring to weigh up the pros and cons of owning a serious piece of kit like that. And before anyone says buy that and keep the Bird, that just aint an option. Can have one or the other, not both.

Thats what you get for watching men and motors on a tuesday afternoon.v

Shade under 5k for a R33 GT-R Vspec, as little as ?2800 for a 2.5 GTS

What you want to do that for??, it's just a tin box when alls said and done that gets stuck in the same traffic queues as all the other boxes :bang:
Specs alright until you get down to the power to weight ratio 0.17bhp/kg and 0-60mph in 5.2 secs, its a fookin slug. Keep the bike, roughly twice the power to weight and half the 0-60 and have more fun :-:

Its an expensive tin box which in ten years time is going to cost a fortune in repairs and be worth crutch. You can only rarely use the performance given the traffic on the road, your going to pay top wonga for insurance and it'll do fook all to the gallon and probably send your blood pressure through the roof cos you can't use the performance because of all the knob heads in yer way.

Let's face it if you can't afford to keep the bird and buy the cage you can't afford to tune it to give 1000bhp (except in yer dreams). Cages are for getting from A-B full stop. Take the other day for example I was overtaken in my Fiat Tipo 1.4ies by a fancy Porche going into the roundabout at Penmaenmawr on the A55, now I know I can do that r/a at 60+ but the twat braked far too early and actually held me up. He was obviously chomping at the bit but I was behind him all the way to Abergele due to traffic. He then pissed off into the distance at a high rate of knots. I did eventually pass him near the Prestatyn turn off.. he was parked in a laybye with an unmarked plod car right behind.... a dark blue Vectra for those that travel the road on a regular basis.

You please yourself mate but I know which I'd chose.

I run a Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo. The same sort of power but IMO looks much better than the Datsun. Goes like stink, but still feels slow after the BB.
I havn't driven it for two months cos the bike is much more fun. If you cant have both, stick with the bike. Also before you buy one, do some research on parts, they are mental money and Nissan aren't the quickest to help on imports.

My girlfriend said "get rid of the car and get a blackbird", so I did. Best move I ever made. Now run around in a 10 year old 'free' car from the parents when I need to carry furniture etc.

Used to drive a sporty(ish) Pug XSi with all the trim and alloys etc, but still sat in the traffic for up to 45 mins each way to work and back. Now do the trip in 15-20 min regular as clockwork on the BB
