if i can just hijack this hijacked thread for a moment, if anyone wants to try an arai visor with a react-to-light fog city already inserted then i have one for free you can have. all it will cost you is a ride down here and introduce yourself and its yours. ive changed my helmet now and i wont be wearing the quantum e again (its eight years old). i put the new insert into a brand new visor and they are both still excellent condition.

There is a "knack" to removing the Arai visor, always had a problem until I went to the Stoke Gericke opening a couple of months ago. The Arai service truck was there, and when I got the free spruce up I asked about it. They fitted a clear side panel to mine so you could see the mechanism then showed me what happened....you turn the side levers and then LET GO OF THEM, just pull and slide the visor and it comes straight out.
The usual mistake people make is to keep pressing on the levers as they try to get the visor out. Seeing it through the clear panel you could see when the levers are turned they lift the sides of the visor off the mechanism and then turn as you remove the visor, holding them makes it harder to disengage and gives you that horrible crunching sound when you think you're breaking it.

ianrobbo1, hi mate, sorry i did not se this post before as i would have replied a lot sooner. if you want a trip up mate i am only more than happy to give you a full on training session with the removal / service of the visor / side pod removal / replacement. it is a bit tricky until you learn the knack. secondly, the Fog City Hyperoptic inserts are ?29.99. but i must stress that if you visor is scratched badly, then i recommend a new one before fitting it. oh yeah, and dont put your big thumb on the inside whilst fitting it ( mental note to myself there). i also noticed people asking what deals were on offer, well, like yourself robbo, the Arai astro R in ltd colour options have ?100 off, so ?299 instead of ?399. we have the top range HJC ( biggest selling lid in states ) should be ?199, selling for ?129. top lid, rebranded shoei as they bought and use the old shoei moulds in manufacturing these lids. ACU and TUV approved fibreglass. to name but a few.

so if your in the area, pop in with your helmet mate and i will go over it with you until you are happy with it mate.

rest of you, hope to see some of you again soon, i did not get much of a chance to speak to you all properly at the opening weekend, was a bit mental !
all the best
Mozza
ps. i can send the hyperoptics out if requested.
