Fog City @ Hein Gericke

Visited Hein Gerick in Aintree, Liverpool today and got a 'FogCity HYPEROPTICS' insert fitted into my new ARAI Astro 'J' by 'Mozza' :yo: , fantastic bit gear.
I generally use the tinted version in a clear visor but i was talked into the Hyperoptics one and glad i did it.
The sunlight causes it to turn blue and act like a pair of sunglasses and when the sun goes in it returns to a clear(ish) vision, i had NO glare on the return journey and NO misting up what so ever.

Mozza is also worth a visit as he has got some good deals on new helmets, Emma is due for a new one so i'll be back next week. :B

Hyperoptics are very good, had one in my Arai for over a year now, no probs with misting even on the coldest mornings. 8ree!

I got one too, its Blue so matches the bike when tinted and cost around ?35 I think, no reason with good care that it shouldnt last the life of the visor or even helmet.

 to HG

Jono, the deals are too varied and numerous to list but if you contact Mozza on 0151 523-3500 @ HG then i'm sure he'll point you in the right direction.

Toots, the inserts are ?30, sounds a lot but its worth its weight in gold.

I used the Oxford version of 'FogCity' and to be honest i wouldn't fit one if it was given as a gift!! absolute pants :loo:
I put one in my Shoei and it caused a pool of condensation at the bottom of the visor so it looked like i was under the sea, i took it out and threw it away.
I thought it may have been down to poor ventilation in the Shoei and so i fitted one of the same to Emma's lid and this time it was worse :bang: , the genuine FogCity is the only one i found to be faultless.
This new Hyperoptic one i have is bloody brilliant but just remember to clean your visor properly prior to fitting the insert (MOZZA)

clear vision and safety are priceless aren't they. Until you have used an insert, you can't imagine how nice it is to flip that visor down and not to have it mist up. I use the Pin Locks on the Shoeis, but previous used the reactolite and standard Fog-City and copies and always forun them to be excellent.

I'm a Shoei convert having been an Arai & Fog City man for years. I wouldn't go back to Fog City now as I find the Shoei Pin Lock system is superb. INHO Fog City's scratch too easily and require too much TLC.

Ian, the ventilation is far better on the Arai J compared to my Shoei lid NUT the Arai visor mech is pants, the damn thing is either open or closed and there's no mid way but i'll cope with it.
As for fitting the FogCity prior to wearing the lid :xm i rode up to the shop with the lid on, he just didn't notice the smudge until it was too late, Kirk being Kirk though he sorted the issue out without quibble

another poor response Ian, showing your true wit, or lack of.

Most bonnets have the Griffon emblem but mine has the Opel one. Not good enough.

200 LInes, I must think of a decent response before typing on this forum. DO IT!!

Still waiting for your reasons and throw the challenge gauntlet of Alton-Wickham A32, your bike, my car. Or Petersfield to Meon Hut A272 same conditions. I bet I would be less than 50 metres behind at the end IF you can go round corners, so that means I'll be in front. :k

Why has it got the emblem of a fruity sweet on the bonnet ?

Haven't explained why, or accepted the challenge, do you want me to send you the dancing chicken?

No explanation as to the 7 cylinder 3.5 litre car either.

Its been fitted with a miss-firing Rover V8 hence the 7 cylinder or its had some trick oversize pistons fitted and the 7th cylinder is a NOS cylinder.
