Ok, I have a bit of time to answer albeit you clearly failed to make your post a question as there is a lack of '?';-0))

In my mind a parasite is thingy that takes up residence in another body and feeds off it's resources, growing stronger by the day until it takes over, killing the other body and taking all the resources with it.

As there are no resources left the thingy has nothing to consume. With an inevitable and sad conclusion.
