Once again, my pet hate subject has raised it's ugly head. So just in case you didn't get it last time and for those who think they're some sort of merit in riding through all sorts of weather conditions all year round, I'd like to say I DON'T GIVE A SHIT.
22 years ago when I started riding I had no choice, now I choose to ride my (on average) 16k miles a year preferably when it's dry.
If you choose to ride all year round, that's great for you but please don't bang on about it, it's borring, it ain't big and some might say it ain't clever, but I respect your choice, please respect mine.

I belive the Dummy went Super Sonic
"Some can & Do,others cant & make allsorts of excuses"
Well what do you expect He still a newby at 22 years.

I ride all the time in the autumn/winter in Spain.
I don't ride when I'm in the UK when it's shit during the so called "summer" season.
No excuses. I am fortunate enough to be able exercise this choice and I do.

On the other hand, you are old and still living in Scotland where the weather is shit so you have no choice. This may or may not be your choice and you may even enjoy it. Either way, I couldn't give a fuck and if it humours you, my rattle is now head in the same direction as my dummy. :}

saw lots of fairweather bikers today even a red blackbird [well when I say red I mean red & gravel coloured as it looks like it has come off second best with the road] twice in two days I've seen that one now, there was also a guy on an R1 wheelie'ing past my house.

Indeed you've never really ridden a bike until you've ridden west scotland in the wind an rain, which is basically all year round..:bow:

West Scotland is nice and they must've known the puftas were coming because the weather was kind to us. But you should try the Sierra Nevada in Granada, the Great Ocean road in Australia or even some of the passes around Catalunya.

I ride when it takes my fancy weather conditions have little to do with it if you've got the right gear, but I do think it helps smooth your riding out riding in the rain alot.

Did my first track day open pit at knockhill a couple of weeks ago it was feckin pi$$ing it down in the morning. I loved it practically had the track to myself but I was shittin it incase I hit the curbs and the sliders are still virginal:cry: but hay ho I had a good time. by the time the track dried out in the afternoon I was flying past the rest of the novices:yo:

Had to stick up for my countrymen on this one. Ive moved south too, but funny enough, when it rains, find myself a wee bit faster than the ones who only ride on sunny days!! Voila, Scotlands got a lot going for it!
