Once again, my pet hate subject has raised it's ugly head. So just in case you didn't get it last time and for those who think they're some sort of merit in riding through all sorts of weather conditions all year round, I'd like to say I DON'T GIVE A SHIT.
22 years ago when I started riding I had no choice, now I choose to ride my (on average) 16k miles a year preferably when it's dry.
If you choose to ride all year round, that's great for you but please don't bang on about it, it's borring, it ain't big and some might say it ain't clever, but I respect your choice, please respect mine.

Joe,
Heartily agree that riding in good weather is best!!! I don't own a dirtbike or any kind that's fun to ride in inclement conditions, so I stick to my truck and hope/pray for nice weather so I can ride the Bird. A big "hat's off" to those who HAVE to ride in all sorts because it's not possible to do otherwise :B and to those who have the skill to ride in bad weather/conditions. I don't. Sorry I missed your earlier rant on the topic, does this little one finish it off and make ya feel any better?

wots yer problem

Whats all the rantings for ?

Noboday asked for your opinions about whether anyone rides in the winter or not, so why take it personally !

I've got pet hates too, but I don't go banging on about them at every opportunity and I dont give a shit that you dont give a shit........err...............

I've been riding for over 30 years and I CHOOSE to ride in the winter because I love riding, I don't just get the bike out when the sun shines. However I'm not slagging anyone off for not doing the same as me and I'm not bragging about it either, so wheres all that ranting coming from !

My personal preference is that I like riding and will do it at any opportunity at any time of the year I can but I aint forcing my views on anyone, so if you don't like it then don't read it !

My post about winter hacks was to those guys who do ride all year, you are obviously not one of them, so dont bleedin read it in the first place !

Now go away and take some valium before you have a heart attack !!

Russ,
Oops, seems I've innocently jumped into a bit of a situation with some history to it. If I had the skill for riding in other than nice weather, and the patience for cleaning up the bike after, I would probably ride more, but the lack of the former precludes it and my lack of time would prevent the latter. Sorry for the intrusion...

nae problems !

Jimster, my reply was really aimed at Joe, I couldn't understend why he had to rant on about winter riding, its no big deal. I do it and so do plenty more, he doesn't and thats fine, just couldn't understand why he got involved in the first place if he don't like it !!

Keep on riding I say :}

Russ, I think you've taken things a little too personaly.

My outburt(s) is certainly not in response to your Winter Hacks thread or anything you may have posted now or before regarding winter riding. Those that know me, know what I'm on about so with all due respect it's your turn with the valium but don't forget to give 'em back.

Joe,

is this particular outburst relevant to anything on the forum at the moment???

Seems a little out of the blue and perhaps trying to dig up already covered ground???

If its personal, probably better to keep it off forum and aimed toward the person/s involved?

As personally everyone rides when he or she wants to :dunno:

Summer is the best time to ride.

But the roads round here are full of nutters with not much riding skill
So when the weather deteriorates there are fewer bikes on the road, all ridden better, and it's a more satisfying experience.
Not getting at anybody-there's not many on here who I've seen ride!

Get a second bike and ride all year round. It's fun in a scary way. Have plenty of dry stuff to change into though and a big drying room. Enjoy.
Someone's calender is either broken or he's on a "bored as fook" wind-up !

Well you'll never see mine out in the wet weather

(JAWS, can we have a 'bullshit' smiley please)

My bike is used only in the dry.

I firmly believe I passed my bike test 1 week after ever getting on a bike because I had all of my tuition in the wet, and test day was dry.
