Just like to add my two pennorth worth, and say a big thanks to everyone for making bev and me feel so welcome, we had a brilliant time despite the weather, a big thanks to Andy for his much appreciated help in erecting our living quarters,
we are already working on our singing for the bash, so we may get to know all the words to at least one song. (sorry Coalville)
Hopefully I will be able to persuade Bev to go on the bike next year, if not she can haul everything in the car & I'll go on the bike.
once again thanks to everyone.

where do I start ?

Chunks - after dropping over Friday night, and to be blunt, feeling like a complete freakin lemon, then I decided to swerve the rest of the weekend.....after getting a beer from the pub and being blatently ignored by several B.I.R.D go-ers at the bar, that just put the icing on the cake....

Tried to join in what banter I could, but with no knowledge and history of what's happened in the past in the group, that was nigh on impossible.....

Sorry but I found it pretty embarrassing standing alone drinking a beer so decided to leave you guys to it and head for home.....

Even posting on the forum with an offer to everyone to drop by en route or leave their kit at mine for the ride out - not even a response.........

Bitterly dissappointed but never mind, lesson learnt !!!!!

Thought of you all in the rain yesterday hope the evening was a belter anyway !!!!

Tara all

S&Q, sorry you were ignored mate, to be honest I wouldn't have recognised you if I did see you, and I'm sure that the same goes for the others, it is not in my nature to be ignorant. There were people there that I had never met before but they made both Bev and me very welcome, and I know they would have done the same with you as I would

twas on the Friday night

not sure when you got down......

Never mind, was very tempted to drop back over Sat and give it another go but when 3 BIRD members are stood right under your nose and they ignore you, kind of more than a bit off putting....

Appreciate your sentiments DK, cheers Hope you all had a belter Sat night anyway

I got there sometime after five o clock friday so I will have been there,, there was quite a bit of heavy drinking from very early on so people probably couldn't even see the ends of their noses, joking aside mate I honestly don't think anyone who was there this weekend would deliberately blank you.

Sorry if we offended S&Q, there were a couple of people there that I didn`t recognise and I wasn`t sure if they were part of BIRD or not.
I might pick up one of those kids badgemaking kits and next time something like this happens I`ll post them out to everyone and then there can be no excuses.
Reall, really sorry.

I'm really sorry you got this impression Smoothandquick but am a little surprised
I know i spoke to you when you arrived with Jaws and showed you the mainstand adaption on my bike and am sure you had a word with Chunky as i think we were the only two there at the time as the others had gone shopping for beer and provisions which is what Chunks and i did soon after .
Are we talking about the evening? as i know i for one didnt go in the pub as everyone was outside in the carpark
Did you introduce yourself to the members you saw ? because they may not have known who you were
Apologies for the way you feel but it certainly wasnt intentional on my part and am sure that goes for the others :dunno:

sorry to hear you were "ignored for want of a better expression",S&Q next time we have a meet at Matlock if you want to give it another try I'm sure you wont experience the same, I know it can be a "bit" daunting meeting all those noisy people that have a "bit" of history, but we were all bash "virgins" at some time, my family and I came down saturday and although I have met most before :bang: there were one or two I hadn't  I didn't get the chance to chat to them as there was a LOT of catching up to be done :dunno: however, next time "they" and me will "know" the faces and have just a bit more in common, I and I'm sure they will make the effort to chat a little more!! as will I, don't let the one "bad" experience put you off,!! :dunno:

actually this same thing has happened a few times when we all "get together" and has been suggested before, "only to be feked off" by the "in crowd" dunno why it's always seemed like a "good" idea to me and we can all avoid Derek then as we will know what he looks like!! :puke:

Just to say thanks to all for a great time - my first "bash" - won't be the last !!

Had a really great time despite the weather - still it gave loads of time for natter and getting to know each other.

So what sticks in my mind after the event....weeelllllll......

Meeting JAWS for the first time........
The strange noises in the middle of the night - rumor has it at least one tent was seen to be deflating/inflating during the night to a loud noise - warning "no matches to be lit"

The "table & beer balancing game" - nice one tooty!!

Those bacon butties in the mornings.

The "spoons" game - best described as musical chairs - without the music.... or the chairs.... !!!

The "birthday chorus" this morning.

The "macky D's" run this morning - good samaritan Ali took JAWS in the car to avoid an embarrasing "movement" - on her return someone else needed rescuing!!

Oh and JAWS...... on arriving home I was promptly asked "hows it been"... my reply "wibble" was simply met with a shake of the head and a "he's still the same, it's not helped".

When I asked "hows the weather been" I was told there was a little rain yesterday but other than that it's been dry........ so that clod on the weather map really was over just us......

All in all it was an Ace weekend... :yo:

Lastly - S&Q - I'm really sorry 'bout what happened. I didn't get there until after 8.00 pm Friday and everyone was standing/sitting around by the tents chatting and drinking so I was welcomed and just joined in. Only time I went into the pub was to get drinks, I thought all the BIRD folks were outside by the tents. With other bikers about in the pub as well I'm afraid I wouldn't have realised you were part of the group.:dunno:

Please, please don't let this this put you off as the folks around here really are a pleasant and friendly bunch.

If you're interested I' planning to make the run down to Bassett's next Tuesday evening. If you want to come along I'll be happy to swing by you're way and introduce you to folks there?:k

Thanks to Gyppo for organising a great EOSB week end great fun and LOTS of drinking. Thanks also to Chunky for sorting out and testing the ride out I happen to know that he went over it several times just to make sure there were no problems, however the only one that he had no control over was the soddin RAIN, and it did.
I had a great time Chunky phoned in the afternoon to say that there was very little room and to get a wriggle on or I would be pitching the tent on the tarmack. Like a prat I believed him and duly took a great big bag of 8in nails and lump hammer, just in case!!!!!!!!!! When I got there it wasn't even half full and he laughed his head off. After that the serious drinking began and after putting up our tent and helping DK with his( I had to help him if he'd tried to sleep in it the way he put it up the pair of them would have come out in the morning looking like the hunchback of Notre dame)
S&Q sorry mate I did see you at the start shortly after I got there but I stayed outside all night and I never saw you again Toots and I mentioned and looked for you several times over the week end and never realised there was a problem. I must admit the first meet that toots and I went to was quite daunting .Ian robbo came over and tried to tell us who every one was but as we were at the side of the room and coz he was so fat we couldnt see round him to who he was pointing at, having said that he was so thin this time I nearly missed him(fookin well done mate).
It looks like I missed lots of the fun coz I had to leave and go to work in the morning on saturday(left at6 got back at 2) just in time to not go on the ride out which didnt happen and get ratted instead.
Great time to every one see you all soon except fir Ian robbo who will have dissapeared totaly by then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should have made the effort to go to the Great Superblackbird Dartmoor 9-11 weekend. We all had a ball, despite the weather, and you would have been more than welcome. Always a better breed of biker in Devon!! Full report to follow shortly - with pics from the Midlands Massif

cheers you lot....

finally back again after the weekend and read all your notes......it reinforces (hate to admit it tho) that you are all a great bunch and not the miserable sods I saw Fri night......:neenaw:

Seriously tho, much appreciate the replies and I'll deffo get along to the next meet and make sure I get stuck into the ale consumption - great words of re-assurance...

Toots - if you make up some name badges, can I be FB for the evening ? - that should guarantee I get plenty of attention then - but I'll fit the butt plug just in case of any unwanted sniffers.....any one got some brown fence stain they don't need ?? :dunno: I have saved a couple of cadbury choccie wrappers and will pritt stick them to the fairing to complete the look......sorted....:-:

Thanks again all - and cheers for the invite DnD......peed off that I cna't make it tonight.....:xm
