I hope you enjoy the new site ................ Jaws ( John )
well I've toddled through Toddingham, Dumbed it out in Dumbleton,Wormed my way through Wormington,Piddled in Wyre Piddle,stopped for another in North Piddle (must be the cold) asked the people in Peopleton, quizzed Ted from Teddington,fiddled in Fiddington,Trod in Tredington,had a cuppa in Twyning, and have decided that what I'm looking for is The Mythe and I had better get Rhydd of this fecking software before it turns me Oddingly
:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: Here is a picture of me going around in ever decreasing circles till I dissapear up my own ringpiece:h
And we have a winner !!
Ed(castrol ) romped ahead by a mere 20 seconds or so from Rob P XX.. In third place was Gypsy and forth Chunky..
To all the other well done guys and gals.. not a loser out there ! You all did bloody well.
Ed was given a selection to choose a prize from ( all pretty duff but what do you expect from me !! ) and chose a comemorative zippo type light from the IOM in display box.
he has donated it to the CLIC auction at the Bash ( weel done mate ! )
Next rally will be held in a few days, but to make sure everyone has an equal chance I am going to scan in the map page I am working from and make it available to download.
that way everyone wil have exactly the same kit and all will have the same chance :beer:
We had a few problems with this first rally...
Some of the places I had on my maps were not shown on other ( cheaper !! LOL !! ) versions..
making the page(s) avaiable to all will ensure this dows not happen again !
Bugger !! I forgot to say how many took part.
We ended up with 24 peeps having a go, and that included a guest player ( Hi Guy, hope you join up now mate ! )
We are now the owners of a brand spanking new AA 2004 Road Atlas of Britain !!! (Pete's 1986 leather bound presentation one from a customer just wasn't up to the job)
Jenny
NB Skippy - please don't rely on being able to do what you said, where you said - you had used to be able to, but no longer! (There used to be a garage (in Wyre Piddle) with a really nice cafe, but it's been closed now for at least a million years.) (well, maybe 25 ..... LOL)
With the aid of........four road atlas's......two on-line direction finder's......three pairs of dividers......one marine plotter....and a pair of navigational parallel rules.....I managed to get to the second place that we needed to find !!!!:B
In view of this outstanding achievement, I wish to have my official placement recorded as LAST !!!!!!:} :}
I thank you:bow: :bow:
Congrats to all those who took part and managed to finish !!!!!
How far on was the Piddle place ???? I made it to Chadbury and then got the next place wrong .....(thought it was Elmstone but it was Stonehall I needed)......but by that time Ed was at the finish line !!!!:}
I found it while I was piddling around looking for Stonewall which is not on autoroute or multimap or any other maps that I have in my posession for that matter :bang: I have it on good authority that Jaws was using a Roman survey map given to him by Nero(who fiddled while I piddled) for his 18th birthday:} so I got no further than you:cry:
It'll be a level playing field next time round as Jaws is going to upload the map for all to use .........watch out Ed.........now where are my Latin notes from High School......................... :}
