Combi pressure help if poss.

Got a fairly new combi boiler in the utility, normal pressure displayed is around 1.2. This is constant when the heating is not on.
However when the central heating has been on it drops, not massively, maybe down to 1.0 over a couple of days then by the end of the week it can drop to below that so we have to top it up.
I'm assuming we have a leak somewhere??? s0s:

yep sorry to say....... do have a look and see if the blow off is not passing as from time to time if they have been use to let off water, not to shut right off again

what boiler is it

sorry jono im not a fan of the glow worm as iv worked on them a far bit

1, iv change the blow off on them as they are prone for leaking

and what ever you do don't be hand fisted with the blue tap you use to fill it up as they have now changed them on the later boiler But the big blue thing you turn is only fitted to a very small plastic tap and the shut off in side the tap brakes off so when you go to refill it you open what you think is the tap but it will not refill

if you look on under side of boiler right hand pipe just in side the boiler you will see a red leaver type thing on the pipe it let water out if it get to high pressurise the copper pipe coming out the side of it should go out side and run down the wall see if its showing any sign of water coming out of it

full manual here to help you find it.

Found an upstairs landing rad seeping water from under the white open / close screw tap even when it's closed. Don't usually have this one on as it's quite large and pumps the heat out, one of the original rads in the house.
So anyway of fixing it or do I replace the entire attachment, which I presume means emptying the rad?

you may be able to just remove the cap there should be a nut around the shaft called the packing gland nut try nipping it up a bit you may get away with it

if not you have to drain the system and change it easy job on a combi

It's easy to drain it down from gound floor rad as its not going to fill its self back up so when drained change part

Bottle of x100 inhibitor in to the drained rad

Refill from boiler , remover air from all rads

Please make sure you do all this with the power off to boiler

Nipped the nut up and it has stopped dripping @tu*, will leave it overnight and see what happens with the pressure when the heating goes off tomorrow. if I need to drain and change your info is great thanks very much

AAAaaaaaargghh!!! :bang: Pressure has gone down again on the boiler, had it at 1.1, went out 4 hours later down to 0.5.
No visible leaks on any rads.
After fixing the leak in the rad I found last night, I checked the bathroom wall rail radiator and had to bleed it as it was cold at the top. This is the highest point of all the rads in the house. Some air came out and it topped up.

Just checked it and it is still topped up and hot to the top.
Surely if we had a leak somewhere this would have lost some of it's water???

Any ideas before I rip up the flooring in the dining room in desperation.
