The thing about getting your braodband from any other provider, like Plusnet, you STILL use the BT infrastucture to deliver your service to your home unless you are lucky enough to have Virgin piped through your streets. And for the record John, as I stated earlier, Virgins delivery service was excellent, it was the customer service that in the billing department that couldn't resolve issues on my account that made me leave them (When I lived in Manchester) If they ever Pipe up Retford I would go back in a flash!

All those who was with NTL originally say the same.. It is the new customers who complain.. And in all honesty, you are one person in several million....

Its like when I get folk ask why the Bird electrics are so unreliable
They are not... Take the amount of birds sold compared to the amount of problems..
Yes, it is worthy of note but no where near as big an issue as someone reading a forum would be led to believe.. After all, it would be very odd if folk posted up when they HAVEN'T got a problem !!

Well we have sacked Sky, both broadband and TV package, yeah I know, radical!!! But going with BT infinity package and vision, and maybe getting freeview will be a whole lot cheaper. Kids have gone and to be honest, although we had a lot of channels the majority were krap. So a brave new dawn :-0).

less tv cannels equals more free time equals more riding time...........maybe?:-0)

I have just installed a new router - and until then I had no idea that the best performance is available by plugging into the master BT socket.

Mines in the attic so hopefully better performance and out of the way as well.:dunno:

It's all relative though - what difference does it make in the real world?? Bit like the difference between carb and FI.....;-0))

Well since asking Sky for a MAC code and telling them we are going elsewhere, our connection speed is now down to 0.2 MB, spooky eh? :wank:

red ones are faster
Now that is funny as that happened to me as well
I called them and had a rant But it did not change any thing
But I felt alot better for it

Been with Virgin Media for about ten years.
I should be on 10mb BBand, but I'm disgusted by my regular supply!!

Usually way over what I pay for :-0)

Only had one problem, after complaint it was sorted within 24 hrs and I got a free month as I had been messed about by Cust services.
I also have Tivo. Bloomin marvellous once it learns what you like!

It's been a few weeks now. My speed during busy hours are avg 7.4 mbps.

Out of hours it is a steady 28.9 avg. Well pleased.

When it doesn't go down.

Twice now.

1 all day and another evening for four hours. :bang:

My own fault as work provide broadband FOC for me, keep getting calls from BT asking if I want a broadband package, but as I get it free does not seem any point, but thought it was a bit slow....so maybe it would be worth it?
